Hired BR Movers to move me and my roommate out of a rowhome on a very tiny street in Philly to an apartment complex. They did an excellent job. 3 guys came to help us with our move. They were very professional, and even came with their own dolly to move boxes faster into and out of the moving truck. My roommate and I finished our move in 2.5 hours, which was about an hour faster than we had anticipated (although we did voluntarily help them move boxes to speed the move up). Billing was very reasonable, with no hidden fees. I will 100% go with BR Movers again if I have to move in Philly in the future.

The guys showed up on time and communicated very well. There were no issues parking in a city and they got right to work. They were very respectful and efficient. They were very mindful to be careful with fragile items and wrap up any furniture so it wouldn’t nick or scratch. The price was reasonable too! I would highly recommend!

BR Moving helped me in an extremely stressful situation, when I was moving my mom from one assisted living facility to another. This was short notice move and BR Moving was able to schedule me within 48 hours of my request on a holiday weekend. They were prompt efficient and quick and that enabled me to keep Mom's anxieties to a minimum.

This was my second experience in 2.5 years with BR Moving and once again, they did a great job. I had the pleasure of working with Pete, Taci, Jamal and Mike and they were all kind, attentive, and wonderful to work with. They worked hard as a team over two days to pack my two-bedroom apartment and move everything to my new location across state lines. They were sure to label the boxes well and upon arrival, they were diligent with asking where to put any items in question to make it as easy as possible for me to start the "fun" of unpacking. When an unexpected washer water situation arose, they quickly problem-solved as a team and helped take care of it. They went above and beyond and I appreciate it! Everyone knows moving is not always a delight, but BR helped make it a breeze for me and I would recommend them again and again! Update: now that I have unpacked many of the boxes, came back to give these guys extra kudos for the way they so carefully wrapped and packed my belongings. They did a much better job than I could have done myself, especially with the potentially fragile items!

READ THE REVIEWS before you decide to go with this company - there are many reports of stolen items, damaged furniture and horrible customer service if anything goes wrong including offensively low compensation offers. They are careless, unprofessional and my day of movers even told me our move should have been a 4-5 person job but they were trying to cut costs. They also sent a detailed covid protocol prior to the move claiming their movers would be wearing masks and gloves - none of that happened. Here’s my estimation - I guess if you are lucky enough to have a good experience, you’re ok. If there is ANY type of issue, be prepared for the worst customer service possible and to take a loss. After breaking 3 legs on my granite topped rolling cart (it started with 1 carrying it up the steps and then I watched as they broke 2 more trying to fix it), chipping the wood on one dresser in multiple places, damaging the entire top of another dresser because they didn’t bother to wrap it and completely breaking a floor lamp behind fixing - the most they are willing to offer me is $250. For reference, I paid $1,113.75 for their services. They are also refusing to compensate me for one of the dressers, claiming existing damage. When I replied to that with before and after photos of the recently refinished dresser and their wrap job which did not include the top of the piece but just the sides, therefore damaging the entire top, they had no response. Before our move, I asked if they would wrap all of our furniture to keep it safe and I was told they would. That did not happen. It was a really hot day and it was a job with a lot of steps. We tipped generously, bought our movers lunch and tried to be as helpful as possible. Of the 3 movers that showed up, I would say that only one of them was actually qualified to do this job. He acknowledged all of the issues and apologized to me saying the company would reach out next day and send someone to fix it all. No one ever reached out or offered to come fix anything. After many emails they’ve offered me a maximum of $250 which is not even close to what it will cost to fix /replace the 4 pieces. I will be pursuing further action to resolve this because they are crooks and should not get away with any of it. Do not ever use this company because you will regret it.

Mover beware! Notice that most all of the positive photos on this yelp page are from the business itself and all the negative photos are from customers. Do not waste your money. Find anyone else to help you. Facts: We hired them for a full service pack and move on June 1. They agreed to start at 8am. They wrote down the wrong time, didn’t arrive until after 9am and didn’t start until 9:30am. Because they started late, they finished late, and the storage company we had secured closed. It was so frustrating because we just barely missed the closing time. They were able to alleviate the frustration by offering to store it in their own storage facility. We were worried about the multiple moves damaging our belongings, but they assured us this would not happen. WE WERE WRONG!!! Fact: We hired them again on August 7 to move our things out of storage into our new home. It wasn’t until a couple hours into this new move that they informed us that they lost a box from our previous move. A garment box 6 feet tall and 2.5 feet wide was used to contain many random things. Why were we not informed until we hired them again? THIS IS HOW THEY CONDUCT BUSINESS. Fact: We found SO things missing. At least two large boxes worth. They told us to email them because they need it in writing. We did. They never responded. Fact: SO many things we’re broken including our 55” flatscreen Samsung smartTV. So many things were damaged, pretty much ALL our wood furniture. Multiple nicks and scratches to items that had zero nicks. Zero. All these things had been easily moved in the past with zero damages. None. Please refer to photos. Fact: I really don’t like leaving bad reviews. Many times to the point where it’s so horrible but I still don’t do it. But this, this is a scam company. I really don’t want anyone to go through what we’ve gone through. Fact: Not responding with radio silence is crossing the line. I did as I was asked: I emailed everything in writing for both damages and losses. At least three different emails were sent including a follow up, “I just want to make sure this was received” email. Yet radio silence. I called and left a message. I don’t want to harass them because what rights do I even have? Probably none. So we will just have to accept our fate that the brand new in box and plastic Apple Watch my husband bought me for my birthday is missing along with a plethora of other things. We are literally throwing out brand new furniture because it’s completely unusable.

Note: this review reflects service received in 2017. - Nice guys in general, Sam was pleasant to deal with and the movers worked diligently. Cons: - Notable damage to a lot of our belongings. Damaged items include: cat tree, sofa, drawers, TV, artwork, and a hole in my wall. When this was brought up, they said none of it was covered by contract because they were plastic parts. Sam tried to help us find resolutions (e.g., email the manufacturer for this piece, try this to fix the furniture, to his credit, was willing to send someone to fix the wall) Unfortunately, it's ultimately disappointing that things were damaged in the first place, and second, that there wasn't much apology from the company. I've moved many, many, times (PHL to SF, SF to NY, NY to PHL, PHL to NY, NY to PHL), and have never had nearly this much damage to my property. - They showed up almost 45 minutes late. Given the building only let us reserve for the morning, we lost nearly 25% of our time, resulting in disgruntled management and a fine we had to negotiate. - The movers just weren't prepared. The gentleman who was working on dismantling my furniture didn't have the right tools. In lieu of something like an electric screwdriver, he had to use a wrench that he tightened onto screwdriver heads. He would screw / unscrew a few rotations, and the screwdriver head would fall out of the wrench. Obviously this added significant time to the move. - Some of the furniture was reassembled incorrectly. For instance, the couch pull-out was installed in such a way that it couldn't be pulled out, requiring us to completely disassemble and redo the job. The bed had drawer tracks which were also installed backwards, resulting in the above-mentioned damage, and requiring us to redo. - It took them over an hour to go from my original apartment to my new apartment - which was only 8 blocks away. It took me 11 minutes, by Uber. The moving team claimed was something blocking their way in the new building, but when I went to complain to the new building's management, they said there was nothing there, as they always make sure it is completely clear for moves. Obviously this can be a he-said / she-said situation, and if less things had gone wrong, I would have given them the benefit of the doubt. Overview - All in all, cannot recommend. Seek out companies with more consistent reviews. Read and compare the contracts thoroughly. And, plan far, far, ahead to get onto the schedule of the most popular movers.
