Don't waste your money. I agree with the previous poster in that their response time was quick yet the what was delivered as the "report and sketch" was poor work that was not worth the $1025 they charged. The proposal they had me sign prior doing work stated the report would, "provide measurements of the existing structural elements," when in fact all they provided were the measurements of the the joists that i gave them when i initially called them.

The sketch was scribbled on a piece of computer paper.

Their report concluded with two things; that the space needed reinforcement, again i called them knowing this, and that i should have enlisted the services of a designer prior to calling them, something they did not tell me prior to cashing my check.

Given the opportunity to rectify the situation by providing me a refund, they ignored the fact they did not full-fill their obligation under our signed agreement and stood by their poor work.

Don't waste your money with these folks.

Chao was responsive in a short time period for a closing on our house which was appreciated. However, the cost was outrageous. Gouging is the only word for it. We gave him a $500 deposit and he spent 30 minutes checking the foundation of our house. To get his report in 2 days, he required an additional $300 expedited fee. That seemed extreme but we had to pay it, assuming the total bill would now be $800. But the final invoice was $955. There was an obvious discrepancy between the time worked and the time charged. He charged for 2.5 hours of his time plus 2.5 hours of a 'helper's' time, plus admin time, travel time, and fees. Instead of having a thankful customer and a great reference, he now has a disgruntled customer. Not the way to do business.
