We have been so pleased and impressed by this business from start to finish. We can honestly say that we have never come across a business that is as responsive and quick as Master Docks. John is an asset to this company. He was the first to reply with a quote for our port installment and with competitive prices. And we truly believe no matter the size of the job, John will treat you like you are the most important client. The crew was professional and cleaned the area, they didn't leave a trace after the installment was completed. They even went above and beyond to install a ladder that we have been attempting to get the previous dock builders to come back and do. We have no hesitation recommending them and we will definitely return to them for any services they provide in the future!
Love the dock. John, Vince, the deconstruction and building crews were all great. We made a mistake in our cleats plan. They were quick to make adjustments for out actual needs. Lovely people and great service

Outstanding experience with Master Dock and our Wave Armor Port purchase and installation! I contacted several dock installers/dealers in the area when we purchased our two Jet Skis for Port estimates and ideas. Most were only interested in selling what was currently in their stock, including the contractor who built our existing dock here on Lake Keowee, ten years ago. Our Jet Skis are long and heavy, so I wanted something larger than commonly stocked ports.
John not only spoke to me and returned my telephone calls promptly, but he took the time to listen and address my needs and preferred options, and went the distance by reaching out last minute directly with Wave Armor to make a request to ensure our ports made the shipment deadline, which was above and beyond anything I expected from any dealer. At that moment he sold me on Master Docks and their attention to customer service. John was responsive, personal, and attentive to our needs. Master Dock prices are competitive, but it is the service that makes the difference at the end of the day.
The installation date arrived and I was given a courtesy call the day prior to confirm delivery and installation. The crew (TJ and AJ) arrived on-time and did a professional job adding the two Wave Armor ports to our existing dock. Then David followed up to ensure we were satisfied with our Master Dock experience.
I am grateful for and give my highest recommendation to Master Docks. A first class operation for sure! Please contact them and give them an opportunity to plan, build and install your dock and port needs. You will not be disappointed!

The finished product is fantastic! The aluminum and metal materials will far out last any pier made with wood or materials with wood in it. The roof protects our boat and looks great with the hipped design. The double wide section gives us plenty of room for recreational fun and hosting visitors. The pier is all free floating without the use of the annoying steel pylons to secure it. The ladder is a staggered step design that allows us to simply step out of the lake with minimal effort similar to stairs in your house. It is clear that Master Docks continues to improve their product because my pier has thicker posts in several places compared to the same pier that was installed for a friend of mine a few years ago.
Salesman John Deshields was very helpful and responsive throughout the entire project. He replied to phone calls and text messages, even on the weekends, to help us understand and figure everything out. This was necessary because the whole project took much longer than the average time for this type of pier. I know someone who purchased this same pier a few years ago and his entire project was finished in a few days. My installation started in October and finished up in December. This was due to ongoing issues with the installers. They had some distance to travel and often arrived before lunch and left mid-afternoon which did not leave a lot of time to work on the project. They damaged some treads during installation and this required some time to order more treads. I took a few days off work because I was told I needed to test my boat on the lift, but the communication with the installers was terrible and I eventually learned this was not even necessary. One day, I asked them if they were ready to test my boat on the lift and they said, yes. I put my boat in the water and met them at the launch area as they were taking their boat out and leaving. Again, the communication was terrible and very frustrating for me because I was not yet living at the house and need to coordinate being available. I feel the main problem was having several young guys do the installation without a foreman. I provided Master Docks with a punch list for a few things that needed to be completed and they did accomplish each task, but the whole project took a long time and other than Deshields, the communication was poor.
The overall takeaway is we feel we received a great product and our pier gets a lot of attention from neighbors and other boaters on the lake, but the service needs to be improved. My rating would have been a 5 out of 5 with better service from the installers.

From the beginning it was a pleasant experience dealing with John. He came across as a class act and was professional from the very first conversation.
After talking with another local dock guy, I realized quickly, there’s only one clear choice here on Lake Bowen.
Was it expensive? Unbelievably. Was it a long process? Almost 6 months… would I do it again? In a New York Minute. It was an arduous process to go through, but it was totally worth it in the end.
I have the nicest dock I’ve ever seen and the guys who installed it were super nice and very courteous from beginning to end. They installed a dual slip dock with two lifts and two jet ski ports. It is exactly what I could have dreamed it looking like in the end and I absolutely love it.
If you’re considering a new dock or even dock renovations, I wouldn’t call anyone else. Absolutely the finest people I’ve ever dealt with. I wish all business transactions were this good.
