Jonathan and Bob showed up on time. They both were polite, friendly ( even with our dogs!) and worked precisely, professionally, and kept cleaning up as they progressed! We are delighted with our countertops!!

If I could give Thompson Stone & Marble Co a ZERO, I would. We went through Home Depot to purchase our quartz. When I realized Thompson was doing the installation and read the reviews, I tried to cancel our order. I was not able to cancel. Thompson came out and did a poor insulation job. I stayed on the phone with them over a year and each time I requested someone to come and repair it, Thompson sent subpar people, who didn't know HOW to repair the mistakes. I'm sure after the first three times, I was put on a black list at Thompson - this was obvious by the phone conversations I had with Ashley at Thompson. I understand she made notes in our file about me being difficult. Thompson returned multiple times; I finally talked to William who promised to come out at a scheduled time; he never showed and never called. I cannot say enough about Thompson's inability to "get it right." I was patient for so long and we're STILL stuck with this inferior installation.

worst customer service ever! Gave us less than 24 hours notice for scheduled appointment. Also, the schedule is for 10:30 AM, the contractor showed up 15 minutes late and then expects us still to pay a trip charge up $200. Thompson Stone and Marble are very unprofessional. They don’t care to hear the customer side of the story and they tell you they can’t do anything you must call Home Depot, then why have a subcontractor?

They were a subcontractor through Home Depot for new counters. They did an excellent job and communicated every little step. Thank you!

Terrible! Missed caulking a 5 year old could see and damaged the wall when moving the slab through the house. We’re supposed to come back out to fix the caulking, two months have passed. No one has fixed it. DO NOT USE!! Not worth the $$!

We ordered a piece for a custom job - unfinished cabinet to transform into a butcher's block/dining table. We visited the showroom and the variety of products was amazing. TONS of samples staged in areas to help you visualize your project and choose what you want. Facility was very clean and organized. We were greeted as soon as we entered the building and the entire staff was knowledgeable, professional, and extremely nice! My wife picked out the style she wanted they captured measurements - LASER accurate measurements by the way, and a delivery date was scheduled. On delivery day the driver called us BEFORE he left to advise of his ETA and then arrived exactly on time. The delivery team was clean cut and well groomed, and had great attitudes and smiles the entire time they were here. Installed the countertop and gave us tips for its cleaning and care, and just as quick as they arrived they were gone! SO. Our experience is a 100% wow from showroom to delivery to post installation. We LOVE Thompson's and you will too. Stop and see them - I guarantee you'll find exactly what your looking for! Oh - you won't be disappointed in their pricing either: product/delivery/installation all VERY reasonable and relative to market rates. Did I mention they delivered to our home in Hemingway?!! These people are AWESOME!!

Any contractor should be evaluated on two criteria: Did they do the job right the first time, and did they make a reasonable effort to fix any errors. Unfortunately, Thompsons did neither. They were the subcontractor for a Home Depot countertop installation. Measuring and templating seemed fine. Slab inspection was so-so, only seeing one of the three slabs on site, though they did offer a digital layout of the actual slabs. The problems came with the install. Kitchen island was off center by almost 2 inches, Island pop-up shelf was off in both dimensions, obvious to the naked eye. Seams were not tight or polished, leaving jagged edges. And faucet holes, which were cut on site, cut into the flange of the undermount quartz sink, even though there was plenty of space to position it without encroaching on the sink. This damaged the undermount flange, voided the warranty of the sink, and made it an uneven surface to try and install the faucet and disposal air switch. Simply looking at the sink (which they installed) would have made it clear that it had a larger flange than a stainless sink. They also slopped silicone all over the cabinets when they secured the slabs. So, how did they handle the follow-up? The person they sent to reset the mis-aligned pieces, Noah, did a great job. He was able to straighten the slabs, reset and cinch up the seams, and polish the uneven seam. However, it took weeks of calls to get him out to me. And they refuse to acknowledge the damage to the sink. After two weeks of calling, I finally caught the installation supervisor who told me verbally that he would put in writing their explanation for the faucet cuts and offer an equivalent warranty on the sink, but after two weeks and multiple emails, I have received no response. Being so far from the business (I'm in Wilmington, they're Myrtle Beach) also meant getting someone to look at or repair often took more than a week based on where their crews were. Based on my experience, I would definitely steer clear of Thompsons.

Do not let these guys into your house as others have stated, you will be sorry!!!! My wife ordered countertops from HomeDepot, these guys did the install, and during installation the installer split one of the cabinets by sliding the countertops around versus lifting and placing. After the countertops were in place, there was a large gap between the wall and countertops measuring almost .5 inches. The template we signed off on stated the countertop depth should be 25.75”, the countertop measured less than 25.5” on one side and as low as 25.20” on the other(clearly cut crooked). The countertop overhang is .25” longer in the front and missing .25” in the rear, very sloppy cut- I could have cut the stone better with a hammer and chisel .They also installed a counter bar top that was .25 out of level (they did come back and fix it, but during the fix they cracked a glass tile) So now we have a huge gap between the wall and the backsplash(over .25”) because the countertops are cut wrong and instead of trying to fix the problem, they offered to compensate us for the backsplash or place more mud behind the backsplash to hide the improper cut of the countertops. See the attached picture according to Thompson, that gap is acceptable and normal, the gap gets twice as large on the other side. If you want crooked countertops then Thompson is the place to go.

Terrible seams!!! Extremely noticeable. We are aware that you will see and feel seams on any quartz or granite countertop, but not to the degree in which mine appears. Purchased our quartz countertop through Home Depot. Thompson Stone and Marble was the supplier and installer. They did not use the machine that pulls the pieces close together. I was told by their installer (that had to come back and "repair" my seams that were pulling apart) that the machines are very expensive and they only have one, and was not on the truck they had that day! We had quartz countertops installed in our past two homes and never had this problem! (One from a local company, Upstate Stone in Sherrill, NY and one from our local Lowes) You had to look closely to find where the seams were and it was flush to the touch. According to Thompson, my new one has the acceptable amount of "lippage." I also had a rep from Home Depot come and look. I am so disappointed! We would have used Lowes again, but they didn't have the color we wanted. Stay away from Thompson Stone and stay away from Home Depot. I should have known better.
