Hello, My name is Greg Dickens. I am a Senior Superintendent with Brantley Construction Company / BCC. My beautiful bride and I chose to move away from the WNC mountains to accept and build a project with BCC, but the project was out BCC’s normal bidding footprint. We decided to sell our home and purchase a home near the current project. I will be leaving BCC soon on my on accord because there is no more local work for me where we relocated to and we have decided to stay and not travel. Yes, I was offered other traveling projects and turned them down. I have been with BCC for a total of 11 years, 7 years the first stint and 4 years this stint. The first stint ended at the end of August of 2009 when the economy tanked and we / BCC had numerous large projects all close out within a few months of each other and no new projects were out there. I was laid off. I was offered numerous times to return, but I was already employed elsewhere. I came back 4 years ago. I accepted BCC’s offer when I was employed with another GC, but my project was being delayed due to Covid-19. Brantley Construction Company has provided for my wonderful family for 11 years. *BCC’s compensation package “both salary and benefits” has always been competitive with the current market or exceeded it. *BCC has provided my personal health insurance. *BCC has 401K *BCC offers paid vacation time and holidays *BCC has provided a company truck, truck maintenance, gas and cleaning. *BCC has always provided the tools needed to complete my work. *BCC has offered rewards for going over and beyond and I have received them. *BCC has company functions periodically that are filled with laughter, love, relaxation. A time to meet and get to know each other and not discuss business. *BCC expects you to “Do your job” plain and simple. I personally have witnessed one person progress from being a student laborer employee that climbed each rung of the ladder and reached NC Division Manager / Vice President. In closing, over 11 years we have built numerous profitable beautiful projects. BCC has supported me and my efforts. We have laughed together, prayed for each other, lifted each other up and encouraged each other. We have worked hard and played harder. I am very grateful for my time at Brantley Construction Company. They have helped me grow and mature tremendously. Very soon I will be departing and I will miss so many amazing people. If you are looking for employment, don’t be scared to jump. “Do your job!” I personally would like to thank everyone at Brantley Construction Company! It has been a good ride. Thank you! Respectfully written and very grateful, Gregory W. Dickens Senior Superintendent
