Worst company ever crane operator showed up a half hour late and still charged for four hours. He was only there 30 minutes, so I called and asked why we were charges so much and the Owner/Supervisor lied to us and said it was because they drove four hours from North Carolina. This was completely false because their office was located in Myrtle Beach with the cranes. The Crane Operator told us they were local and apologized for being late and that he went to the wrong location. South Carolina law no one is allowed to charge you for work or time that they did not provide, they cannot have a written agreement that goes against the state law or violates a state law. I have already reached out to our lawyers, and they have informed me that the contract is illegal. I look forward to seeing them in court as the person threaten me if I wrote this review to help protect others. I understand fuel charge, loading and unloading charges and drive times even a two-hour minimum but this company overcharged, for time they did not work. I do not recommend them based on the fact they lied when questioned. The supervisor/ owner threatened to sue me if I made this review and refuse to discount for any compensation for being charged double for time they did not provide. All statements are true and the truth. I am looking forward to seeing him in court and proving to them the law on time allowed to charge. To any contractors out there do your research and make sure no one is violating your rights or charging you for services they are not providing. I do not recommend this company in this location at all. The service charge was double from what any normal crane company charges in that area. If they see you are desperate, they will take advantage of you. We did call after the fact but thought they would have been upfront, fair and honest with us. I could have been more understanding if they charged only what they worked or even a 2-hour minimum to compensation but to go to the wrong address, show up late and charge me for 4 hours when they worked less than 30 minutes if that on the job well it speaks for itself. Unfortunately, they ripped me off and I will never make this mistake again or use this company. Their online reviews state they have done this several times before to others, so it is not an accusation. Live and learn I guess but this is not how a company should conduct business. A company with a bad reputation speaks volumes. My parents always said find a lair catch a thief and since the person lied to me on the phone on why they charge for the 4 hours it goes hand and hand. They have lost a lot of business as I due work all across South Carolina. We now use another local Crane Company in this area that has a 2-hour minimum charge, that will not take your money, work less than the hours offered, while still charging you for 4 hours like this company. Always do your research and online reviews before ever using B&B Crane Service in Myrtle Beach. We found the person was really rude on the phone, they showed up late, made excuses than they will take your money cut and run.
