I have been trying to contact these guys for 4 months, they do not respond to my text or calls. My solar has been off for 4 mo this, these people do not care. Do not get solar in the 1st place. What a rip off. I'm a big sucker.. DONT GET SOLAR. THE TAX REFUND IS A LIE, I GOT ZERO..
Really nice and helped me install replacement inverters for my system that blew. They didn't do the original install, that was Empire that went bankrupt, so it was really kind of them to help me out when I couldn't get anyone else out to help me. I'm rating them 3 stars because I need some more work done on my system, but I can't get a call back after trying for months.

I was in a bad position in January 2023 until I found Abilene Solar.
I hired a big Florida-based internet solar company in October 2021 to install a 12kWh system on my flat, TPO roof. It took the internet company 14 months to get my 30-panel system fully and properly installed. In December 2022, I (not them), finally got AEP certification. Yes, December 2022 and I had to get the certification. Can you imagine? Good grief, what a struggle.
Then, in January 2023, just days after I authorized funding of my Florida solar purchase, my TPO roof began to leak from underneath the panels above my garage, with water leaking through the ceiling into the interior of my house. Unhappy.
I needed my roof fixed “yesterday”, as the cliché is said. Not in a month or several months (which is no doubt what would have happened AGAIN with the Florida company and their disparately hired, hodgepodge “crews”).
In short, I needed several solar panels moved immediately, then reinstalled after the roof was repaired. Flat roof, mind you, so no need to lower the panels to the ground, just set them aside on top of the flat roof. Not a difficult solar job per se, right?
Because rain happens (and I’m not fond of water coming inside my house), I had to go local and fast, but I felt good because, to repeat, not a difficult solar job due to the flat roof. I dang sure couldn’t wait 3 months until the Florida company got around to my needs (if, indeed, they ever did, since by now they were paid).
Unfortunately, and surprisingly, I couldn’t get the first two Abilene solar companies I contacted to come out. Stunning.
With the first local solar company I contacted, I was sure they would come out quickly because I had done significant electrical business with them in the past (they also do solar). They gave me the run around for a week, then they simply ignored my calls. What?!
Whatever, I called another local solar company. This second company called my roofer the same day and the solar owner promised to come out 5 days later. But he never did. Then he ignored my texts and calls. Didn’t say “boo”, nothing. Good grief, if you don’t want to do the work, just say so!
By then I had wasted another two weeks dealing with two completely unreliable Abilene solar companies. Luckily, no rain, but rain eventually happens, you know?
Via Google, and with dwindling options, I then called Abilene Solar and talked to the owner, Kyler.
I called Kyler around 3 pm on a Thursday, explained my situation, and Kyler had a man out late on Thursday - same day! On Thursday night, via text, Kyler and I agreed on a price. The next day, Friday morning, Abilene Solar completed the uninstall. My roofer got started Friday afternoon and got the roof repair done on Sunday. I texted Kyler on Sunday that I was ready for the reinstall. On Monday morning, Abilene Solar showed up and got the reinstall done by 11 am. On Tuesday, the rain began. Timely.
Seamless, simple, and smooth business. Nice.
My daughter is now in the process of buying her solar system from Abilene Solar. Abilene Solar takes care of business professionally, at a reasonable price, and fast. Awesome.
I warn you now: definitely shop around when you’re contacted by one of these national solar companies, first, for price, sure, but second, they promise timely warranty work when the infrastructure needs tinkering or repair, but I find their promises to be completely hollow. And now I know that not all local solar companies are equal either. Caveat emptor.
I swear by my solar system, especially since I also drive an EV. Let me tell you, I think Abilene Solar is by far the best solar company out there (and, unfortunately, I have experience with far too many national and local solar companies, so I can doggone sure give an informed opinion).
Go solar. Go Abilene Solar. I’m happy I did.

The owner is awesome, if we had a question he is there. We had some issue with our house wiring, and he was there with us the whole way with what had to be done to solve the issue, and help us with the power company. I m glad we had him, and his awesome team do the work, and not some one from out of town.
