I can never forget Gilbert Castillo of Texas flooring and renovation. Every time I go into my kitchen, and I look at my beautiful stainless steel sink with the beautiful marble countertops and backsplash, I think of him finally. He’s very professional, and I would recommend him to anyone.
We called Texas Flooring and Renovations for a flooring install. We received a call back from Jay who identified himself as Texas Flooring and Renovations. However, we wrote checks to Advent for the work.
The flooring installation for 1200 square feet took longer than two weeks in April while we went on vacation. There were beer cans in the back yard upon our return. The subcontractors that Jay used turned on the AC and dust caked and warped the AC air filter. The subcontractors did not level the concrete subflooring after they damaged it with a heavy electric scraper, which caused the click flooring to flex and not lock in several places.
Several kitchen cabinets were damaged from the scraper. Plaster was missing from a corner of a wall. A floor tile was knocked loose from the laundry room. The subcontractor patched the cabinet, but did not sand or paint it. The plaster was patched, but crudely textured. The tile was re-set, but the grouting is missing.
The installed quarter-rounds were left unpainted.
The subcontractors cracked a glass cover over the entryway. This item is not replaceable.
They also left hand smudges on the newly painted walls and did not clean them.
We decided to hire a different contractor to finish the work and repair the poor installation from Advent's subcontractors. We did run out of flooring, and additional flooring was ordered. It's been challenging to schedule work with Jay to finish the project. The subcontractors who did come arrived late and did not put in a full day's work. The initial call was in February. It is now June, and the flooring installation is still not complete.
Jay seems like a nice person. He did not actually supervise the subcontractors. It's been two months since the work began in April, and the work is about 90 percent complete. We're left to repair for damages caused by the contractors.

We’ve had quite a few contractors in our 80’s home and we were blown away with how professional, quick, and clean these guys were! They showed up early every day, took an hour lunch break, and stayed until 5pm. Who knew contractors like this existed?!? My biggest concern with this whole project was dust, and I’m still in shock with how little I found, and how easy it was to take care of. We are so in love with with our new floors and plan on using them again and again on future projects.

I have used these guys for multiple remodel jobs. In my first house they did my wood floors, counter tops and backsplash. They were very patient with my long drawn out decision making process. They let me shop around for supplies and tile that fit my needs perfect when they didn't have exactly wht at I wanted in their showroom. In my second home I did the research first and my kitchen was done within a few weeks. The have also did a large floor tile job in my second house. They guarantee their work and take care of any problems that arise!
