Bought a new motor for our boat lift and hired Jerry at Precision Docks to install it because I was too busy to do it myself. When Jerry and his guys came out they advised they couldn’t use the existing switch because it was too old. So, a new switch and harness ($175). When I stopped by later they were having trouble figuring out how to wire the harness to the switch and motor. Later, Jerry advised they got it wired, turned it on, and after it ran up and down 3 time suddenly smoke came out of the motor and oil from the capacitor. Claimed they had done their job, that the motor was defective, and insisted on being paid. They left with the motor hanging on the lift by 2 bolts (1 was stripped and had to be cut off later). Several months later when I finally had time off from work I cut off the damaged bolt and removed the motor. When I opened the plate where the harness was wired to the motor I found wires sticking out from the connector they had installed (see photo) and other wires just stuffed in the holes where connectors should have been used and the screws barely tightened to hold the wires. Also, I opened the switch to check how it was wired and how it matched with the motor per the wiring instructions from the switch manufacturer and the motor manufacturer. I found the wiring between the switch and the motor no where near matched with the instructions from the manufacturers. Next, I took the motor to a local reputable dealer to text it out. There, we found the capacitor was ruined. Changed it for a new one. Plugged the motor in and turned it on. At first it tried running but wouldn’t turn. After turning it on a couple of times it would run but struggled badly to get turning each time. We determined that based on Jerry’s comments that the lift ran good up and down 3 times and then failed and from the wiring issues found that the motor was not defective, but had been damaged during installation. Fortunately, the dealer had a new motor with the wire harness attached from the same manufacturer. Bought it for another $350+ out of pocket, installed it myself. Too bad I didn’t do it myself the first time. I would have saved a lot of money and hassle. No! I do not recommend this business. Use them at your own risk.

Don’t use these guys. They say they will show up and then don’t. They then call and say sorry and then give a new date and time and then don’t show up again ! They are nothing but a waste of time. Hope they have enough business to last them a while because I will tell everyone I know about how they treat customers
