SCR Civil Construction near Richmond Texas is operated by Robert Samples. I have worked with this firm and spoken to many employees. The employees state that their jobs were threatened when they raised issued of worker safety and materials quality control. Here is what the employees state: The construction projects they were assigned to were completed with very cheap materials. The high cost of steel quality steel led to use of excessively smooth reinforcement bars. This made the structures subject to future maintenance issues and possible collapse. Safety officials cite underuse of proper steel rebar (to achieve redundancy) and bad cement in reinforced concrete construction as a major cause of increased maintenance and future failure of roadway and bridge structures. When there is more reinforcement, collapse may be more localized rather than progressive and catastrophic. There are quality firms in this field. This is not one of them and should be avoided, even if they quote a lower price than the competition.
