Awful, predatory, money-grubbing company. I was recommended to sign up for their home security service through my apartment's building management and they charged me a monthly fee that was far outside my budget, then, when I went to cancel, they forced me to pay $1,170 to cancel. This is ridiculous. I had to go on hold three times and re-add my debit card over thirty minutes. I'm a fresh out of college young woman, how are you going to take this much from me instead of making cancellation easy and free like LITERALLY ANY OTHER COMPANY? No one should buy from them. Save your wallet and use it on your family.

On August 22, 2024 a salesman by the name of Robert came to my door asking about a security system. He stated that we could try the service for 30 days and if we were not pleased we could cancel all services. We attempted to put it in my name but he stated that it would require a substantial deposit so he inquired about my daughter. He said the account would be in her name because she did not require any type of deposit. He sent someone to my home about 45 mins later and that's where the issues began. We have had intermittent issues with the system and then my daughter was sent a bill two weeks later saying that she was past due on a payment of $20, which could not be correct because we had not had the system that long nor did we past our 30 day mark. My daughter received a credit alert that someone had opened an account in her name for $4,000, when we reached it they stated that the account for the alarm system was actually a line of credit and that we would be financing this equipment for $2,100 which again could not be accurate because we had not decided to keep the system. We called Vivant as well the bank that holds the loan and have been given the runaround, they have continuously hung up, gave false statements and the salesmen who "sold" us the system coincidently stopped answering our calls once we made him aware that we knew about the line of credit and had no desire to keep the system and that we were also aware of previous lawsuits for this same thing. Unfortunately this continues to be a problem that has left me and daughter furious and frustrated. I will be filing a legal complaint and also making everyone aware of their scam tactics. Unfortunately until the dispute is over we are responsible for this bill. All of this information has been forwarded to the BBB as well as our attorney for violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Below is my cancellation for Vivint's service. As a customer of 7 years, I can say without hesitation that their customer service is the worst that I experience. For context, this written cancellation was required in Vivint's small print, which also states my cancellation will only be processed after 30 days--enough time for them to receive one more payment from me. To whom it may concern, I am responding to an email and document provided by a member of your customer service team for purposes of cancelling my account with Vivint. My reason for cancellation is the constant misinformation and poor service I receive from the Vivint customer service team from top to bottom. Today alone, I spent 1 hour and 50 minutes on the telephone, and spoke with 6 different people. Twice, I was disconnected or hung up on. I received multiple different and "best" offers for your product. For example, today, after I received an offer for $24.99 a month without a contract from a "Maria", I was told the only offer available was for $39.99 a month for a 36 month contract by an "Erica". This is my consistent experience with Vivint. And not a single apology rings true when the misinformation is neither corrected nor compensated for. Today's call originated from looking back over my finances for the past year and finding out Vivint did nothing that was told to me in my last series of calls to Vivint or the email an associate sent me that clearly states 3 months credit were "already applied" to my account. I was told in calls with Vivint in October of last year (as a result of more misinformation regarding billing and a camera install on my front porch), that I would be awarded three free months and a rate of $29.99 moving forward. I was not given a single free month and was charged $49.37 for the subsequent months. I will be filing this account with my lawyers and seeking a refund/compensation of at minimum $98.11 for the three months (10/23, 11/23, 12/23) that I was charged for after that email was sent to me. I will also be posting this to every site that allows reviews of your company with a 1-star rating, as it has been demonstrated consistently that your company will say anything to get their next payment and will not take accountability for anything their customer reps say. I can only imagine what could have happened if in my 7 year business with Vivint, I ever actually needed the services promised by Vivint--services marketed as a source of "peace of mind" and prolonged through at least 1 more payment justified by the fine print in the agreement ("Your account will be processed for cancellation 30 days after this notice is received") that says you are a service that is responsible for your customer's immediate health and safety. Nobody should ever trust this company with their peace of mind, health, or safety.

Sad that I have to write another review of this company. I don’t know what happened from when we first had gotten the service to now but I guess moral of the story is don’t add any service. First and foremost there is a $299 charge that got added to my account for no reason? That $299 needs to be taken off of my citizens pay account immediately. I did not authorize that and that shouldn’t be on there. Secondly I bought 2 extra sensors and decided to add them and they don’t even work so that was a total waste. The first ones that were initially installed are amazing but these ones are totally different and complete garbage. I paid out of pocket for these and just want to return them and get my money back. Third thing is I added another doorbell camera and it doesn’t even work half the time. Actually 2 of my cameras that I added after the fact go offline more times than they are on line. It has nothing to do with my WiFi either because it’s a strong connection and very fast. Lastly they won’t send someone out to fix this issues without trying to charge me $100 so they expect you to have broken equipment and pay for it month by month unless you pay them. Well I decided I would schedule and try and get it fixed and figure the $100 out and they send out a tech who is not supposed to be at my house!!! If you read my other review he had installed a camera in which I did not authorize so it was in the notes for him not to be there. I mean come on this is horrible customer service and just very portly ran. I will definitely be taking this further and trying to switch if it doesn’t get resolved. It’s absolutely ridiculous with how many phone calls I’ve had to make and how much money this has cost me. I think I need to contact the attorney generals office or take it steps further if this doesn’t get resolved. Beware so this doesn’t happen to you.

I had just purchased 4 packages security cameras for my house and here’s a video captured by Doorbell of a Vivint employee technician working on my home cameras back door and front door camera are so amazing and detecting anything that could possibly be a threat and or something that could potentially make it look like a security issue. So far I look my house security cameras and I could just army away when I’m not home. Pretty cool huh!!! The technician Luke Brown was amazing to work with and explained everything to me and he was very helpful and nice. Set up everything within time frame. Cameras are widely viewed towards the street and up to sudden almost distant and very clearly visible objects. Recommended for someone looking for home cameras. Wait a minute(: they also give you an option to have a premium service monthly and if you decide to cancel it at any time you want without penalty or charge for it. Just look love it ?✔️??
