I contacted Cottage Construction for a bathroom repair and rescue prior to listing my house for sale. The quoted price was fair and itemized for the repair plan, with notes of potential extras. Indeed, there was only one amendment with a joist replacement that was noted as a possibility in the original quote, indicating a complete and accurate assessment of the problem.
I also discussed a partial kitchen renovation to save a troubled floor, match a dated but classic look and modernize it (that's an art), and provide more counter and storage space. I decided to proceed and the results are great, for both the bath and the kitchen.
I had a good impression of James and Abram from the start, and they did not disappoint. I recommend Cottage Construction and plan to call them first for any future needs.
Cottage Construction has completed two projects for us. The first was a replacement of the wooden casing of our front porch columns in summer 2019. The second, larger project was construction of a 8x10 covered deck and replacement of our back door in early 2020. The project was completed a few months ago (this review is being written in mid-June), so we've had some time to live in and enjoy the new space. Cottage Construction suggested we use Trex decking instead of wood and I am so glad we went with that option. We chose the Trex Enhance line Toasted Sand color decking and it looks amazing. We stained the support posts ourselves after they had cured to tie it all together. The hidden fasteners mean no burning hot nailheads to step on when you go out on the deck on a hot summer day. The timeline for our project was somewhat extended by bouts of bad weather, but that was to be expected given the time of year and Cottage Construction kept in good communication throughout. The work they did was excellent and we love having an out-swing door in our kitchen (another keen suggestion by the Cottage Construction team!). I would definitely recommend them.

Very pleased after working with Cottage Construction. They listened to our deck vision and brought it to life. The quality of work was beyond expectations. We have never seen a deck so seamless, and meticulously built- not one detail was overlooked. Communication was also quick and easy- we never had a question go unanswered. Will definitely be using Cottage for all of our future projects. Highly recommend!

From the estimate to the finished product, Cottage Construction really took pride in their work. We added a deck extension off our existing covered back porch. They answered, via text, questions we had about the build anytime of the day and weekend. They were able to add things in that we overlooked for the initial estimate and gave us ideas on what they could do to make it better. Our neighbors even over heard conversations with the crew and the project manager and commented on how dedicated they were to making sure the deck was perfect. We chose a step down from our existing porch, railing to match, lattice, rock underneath and a gate. The finished product with the smoothed edges on the railing really left us in awe. We will be choosing Cottage Construction for any future projects and making sure we spread the word about them to our neighbors and friends.

Cottage Construction did a fabulous job on a difficult deck replacement for my condo. They handled all the permits, coordination with the homeowner association, material selection, site prep, and construction. Even though we experienced delays due to an unusually rainy spring, I was always kept apprised of the progress and schedule for completion. I am more than pleased with the work, and would recommend them to other homeowners. I plan on using them again for additional renovations to my properties.
