I searched everywhere in the area for the perfect soapstone slabs for my kitchen.
Dana and her colleagues at VA soapstone were excellent to deal with. Dana is more knowledgeable than anyone else I know about soapstone and happily shares that knowledge. She patiently held my slabs until we were ready for them through my long kitchen construction. the guys that came out to template are the same ones that cut the stone; so it fit beautifully when they arrived to install it. one small hiccup in a waterfall piece measurement that was corrected without question within 2 -3 days. Five stars for both service and product provided. A pleasant experience working with them.
In 2023 we underwent a major first floor renovation in our 1900 farmhouse. In considering our design, we wanted a timeless, modern, stately look that would age well and not require a "redo" for many years to come. After considering many current countertop and flooring options, we settled on soapstone for its amazing durability, non porous properties and classic, natural, ageless appeal. We've installed soapstone on our kitchen countertops, as a waterfall countertop on our bar, and as the countertop and flooring in a very visible half bath. We even wrapped our living room fireplace with it. We couldn't have made a better choice in material or in who we worked with for fabrication and installation. As a material, soapstone is extremely durable, doesn't stain, and is a classic material. Every slab is unique which is part of its major appeal.
Dana and her team of stone fabricators and installers are the most knowledgeable team on soapstone in the DC metro area. They are professionals who have many years of experience in educating their customers on the stone's properties, what to expect with soapstone and most importantly, how to position your countertop layouts on your slab of stone to get the most out of your chosen slab. I highly recommend all of the people at Virginia Soapstone for their competitive prices, their beautful work and their exceptional products.

Dana and Oscar and the entire VA Soapstone LLC team are better than ever. We have been so happy with the kitchen countertops they installed just before the pandemic in Feb of 2019 and we just had them install countertops in our pantry. The quality and service was better than ever. Thank you VA Soapstone!

How did I not get my review in !!?? Dana was outstanding and her team did a perfect job. We remodeled our kitchen in our 1910 home in Lexington VA. Dana was willing to send her team 2x once to measure and once to install. Excellent exacting perfect performance. It’s been since December 2018 and our SS is still perfect. I love my custom sink they designed as well. I have recommended MTex/Dana to many folks and everyone has been impressed. We USE these countertops! My grandchildren love to bake and we don’t baby the soapstone. Thank you. Virginia Soapstone

We just recently had our new soapstone counters installed and we love them! I was so happy to have found VA Soapstone, Dana walked me through all there is to know regarding the stone and different varieties, she’s a wealth of knowledge. Oscar and his crew did a amazing job on fabrication & install and our entire experience from selecting to install went perfectly. I highly recommend for top notch quality & service.

From my first call to the final installation, it was a joy to work with everyone at Virginia Soapstone. Dana patiently talked me through both the challenges and advantages of having a soapstone countertop. She answered every question I had, sometimes more than once. It was wonderful to go to the showroom and pick my stone and back again to work with the fabrication patterns. The installers were incredibly professional and proficient! Great guys! I would recommend Virginia Soapstone to anyone who is considering using this material anywhere in their home or office.

Dana and the rest of the Virginia Soapstone team are lovely and so easy to work with. Extremely helpful in educating me about soapstone, great selection of slabs, and really professional and efficient in the fitting/installation process. I'm so pleased with how my counters turned out. Definitely recommend!

We did our homework to pick our countertop options and decided that soapstone was a good fit for us aesthetically as well as functionally. I loved the fact that we would not have to worry about sealants or whether or not we used the right cleaners on it. We are also fans of its aging qualities and just overall durability. However, when we started to look for it at the local countertop warehouses, we quickly learned that we already knew way more about the options and possibilities than anyone we could find to talk to about it. I found Virginia Soapstone and their associated company Teixeira online and ordered some samples of the different types of stone (we got the samples from Teixeira). We are so pleased that we found this small company and their knowledgeable staff. After visiting with Dana who walked us through all their options, the qualities of the different versions, where they came from, the care, maintenance, and concerns of each … we found just what we were looking for. So pleased with the end result. Our counters are beautiful. As it turns out, our project occurred in the midst of a global pandemic. I can go a step further and say that the company acted very responsibly both in terms of customer and worker safety. And as someone who discounted using quartz because of worker safety concerns, this was important to us as well.

Second time around for us. First time I remodeled our bathroom with soapstone. Gave Dana the dimensions and drawings, picked out a slab, and picked up after all was cut. Came out PERFECT.
This past time we had poured a concrete slab but was unhappy with the results. After 3 years decided to bust it up and try Soapstone again. Sure glad we did. Had Dana's guys install and they did a fabulous job.
