I met Tony 16+ years ago when he was in partnership with another guy. A mutual friend of ours told me to contact Tony to at least get an estimate. Since I had 2 estimates to compare Tony's price to I thought I had done the right thing. Tony was right on the money and once I started talking to him, we realized we knew many of the same people in different industries. I was a lot closer to the other business owners then I was to Tony so I called them. Each one confirmed my initial feeling while I was observing and noting details about Tony's demeanor. It was obvious that he was detailed oriented and made many minor observations I hadn't thought of, so this was huge especially since none of the other companies I spoke with even mentioned some of the items Tony brought to light. The end product was absolutely awesome and so much so several of my neighbors have had Tony back for quotes for similar work. Just a short note: I had some paving work done many years ago that was separating and falling apart. Tony took it upon himself to repair that work and made the old paving look like new. Tony's company does professional work, and uses high end quality material. I can attest to this from the pavers used years ago to the pavers tony uses now. I would highly recommend NOVA Landscaping Construction for any exterior jobs you may be contemplating on doing. It was a pleasure dealing not only with Tony but his crew of workers. Let me caveat my review with the fact that I am a local realtor. I deal with a lot of contractors, and refer out a lot of contractors to clients. Tony at NoVA Landscape Construction Is at the very top of that list. Our family spent the better part of a year working with his crew to transform our yard and pool area. At the end of that time, I can still say I’m thrilled that we went with Tony and his crew for this renovation. Not only because of the outcome of our space, but because of the communication that we received consistently through our work, and with the caliber of work I saw happen in my backyard! Tony and his crew transformed our back yard pool area into a retreat. Our pool is about 40 years old. I don’t believe it had ever been resurfaced. We started there with Tony and his crew and as we talked about our vision for up there our design options grew. We opted to reconfigure the entire space around the pool, and Tony Was able to take our vision and make it happen! He was receptive to all of our requests, even the ones that were a little more difficult for him to fulfill like a very specific color of a crêpe myrtle tree for the landscaping, with a can-do attitude! We now have a wood-burning fireplace, we ran a gas line to heat the pool and put in gas heaters for the pavilion area, added a fridge a grill, garbage and recycle bins , and a cooler box to easily access drinks. The space is truly an oasis for our family now. We do a lot of entertaining and everyone who has stopped by has been so impressed with the space. We are beyond thrilled with the results and would highly recommend Tony and his team for any home improvement project you are considering!

We recently completed a beautiful hardscape/landscape project with NOVA Landscape Construction near Leesburg, VA. Not only was the final result everything we asked for, but the owner (Tony) and his team made the entire process simple and clear. After discussing the design and committing to a schedule, Tony coordinated the drop off of all materials, making proactive corrections when needed prior to the start of the project. Each day, his teams put in a full day's work, and Tony himself was there either working alongside them or stopping by to make sure everything was going smoothly. The project was completed on time, in budget, and exceeding all specifications. Finally, they left the areas surrounding the project/work zones in great shape, seeding and fertilizing all impacted grassy areas and powerwashing our driveway. We love our new fire pit, lighting, and patios!

I used NOVA Landscape Construction for a new patio install with a fire pit and hot tub. It wasn't a simple job because my property has quite a bit of grade and we also needed to dedicate a space to the jacuzzi (and all of its electrical work). I had two other estimates, while slightly cheaper, that didn't have plans for a concrete pad under the jacuzzi and didn't include retaining walls and lights. Tony also used quality materials that were thicker and higher-end than what the other guys were using. I realized quickly this was not as simple as slapping down some Home Depot pavers. I am so glad I went with Tony because that could have been a real nightmare as the ground settled with the grade we have and a heavy jacuzzi sitting on it. Tony also had a designer draw up the plan so I could see exactly what I'd be getting. We changed it a couple of times so it was really helpful to see it in 3D from different angles. Most importantly, I can't say enough great things about Tony's guys. We had the same two guys who showed up each day at 7:30am and worked the whole day in nearly 100 degree weather. I have had other contractors for other projects not show up on some days (I guess to squeeze in some smaller jobs) or take 2+ hour lunches where I didn't know if they were coming back. These guys got the job done quickly while paying meticulous attention to detail. They spent quite a bit of time cleaning up after themselves and hosing everything off. We had a couple of issues come up due to the formation of my deck and grading of the property and they made sure before they did anything they spoke with me about what I wanted which I really appreciated. It was a pleasure to work with Tony as he was always responsive to every question I asked. He came over multiple times to check on the project so I never got the feeling that he just took the money and ran while some guys I had never met or spoke to did all the work. Unfortunately, that is how a lot of these businesses work so that is why I wanted to take the time to write this review and give credit where credit is due. Tony is on top of everything, hires the right guys and treats them right, doesn't cut corners and uses quality products, and knows his stuff and is super responsive. Highly recommend!

I called Northern Virginia Grounds because I needed retaining walls and a riverrock bed placed around a sports court for a sloped area of my backyard I was worried about erosion and drainage and Northern Virginia had great reviews. I spoke with Tony Drosos, the owner and he came over within a day to look at the project and draw up some ideas and estimates. When we decided to move forward with the project, sensing my urgency he got a crew to start the next day. These two guys that came over would start at 7:45Am in the morning and stay until maybe 6:00PM or so. They would not leave until the finished the section that they wanted to complete for that day and a few times I felt so bad I told them they did not need to stay any longer and come back tomorrow. That is how dedicated they were. Let me say that this was the week at the end of July where we were hitting 100F every day. They came in one Saturday and I had to convince them NOT to come in on Sunday. The put in 2 stone walls and covered it with a beautiful stone veneer with each stone cut and placed by hand. They took their time and the walls look great. Truly high level craftsmanship and Tony came every day to check on progress and see if anything was needed. At the end Tony even helped me with a good deal on mulch to cover around areas they finished working on. Great 2 man crew that worked long hours to get the job done without asking and finished product looks great. Highly recommend and will use again for future projects.

After contacting numerous landscaping/hardscaping/drainage companies I found Northern Virginia Grounds. Thank goodness! Tony and his workers were able to handle all of our concerns! Our initial request/concerns were regarding drainage issues and a new walk in our front yard. The job was going well so we immediately signed Tony on to address the drainage issues in our backyard. Along with adding/routing drainage to the appropriate areas we replaced a huge cement pad under our raised deck (which was a complete eyesore) and a crumbling brick retaining wall/brick facade to the cement pad, which was deteriorating as well. All the (failing and very old) hardscaping played into the drainage issues and we knew it needed to be addressed. Everything was looking great. We couldn't stop there, so we went back up to the front yard and redid the old brick stoop as well as removed old railroad ties and replaced those with stacked stone. Everything looks AMAZING!! We've had a few neighbors comment on the changes out front and how great it looks. Tony was always available during my project. He stopped by everyday to check the status of the job. And he didn't run off. He stayed and talked, explaining next steps, answering my questions, suggesting other options. I was always able to reach him with any concerns or questions. I really appreciated him calling after we had finished a drainage job and he saw rain. He wanted to know how the fix was working, to take photos, and a video so he could see. I really appreciated that concern and reaching out to me to suggest that!! I would definitely recommend Northern Virginia Grounds! In fact, if I get my way he'll be back to work on some overgrown beds.
