Overall

What an amazing place! My husband and I felt like kids in a candy shop; we had lots of fun looking for the perfect live edge board. The service we received was outstanding. We will definitely be back!

Good everyday selection of domestic and exotic lumber as well as intetesting limited availability items. Very helpful staff.
[Update 6/2024] Shop has expanded, so the selection of wood and other items is even better.

Could not be happier with the service I received from this location. Went in a few days ago planning ahead for my lil one bunk bed and had it delivered today and was glad to find the request I made with the cherry wood purchased was definitely fulfilled. A big thank you to the team there and the lil one will have a good quality piece for years to come. I'll be going back for future needs.

Knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff. I was so happy to get rough cut teak for a custom boat repair. Got 1x6 6' long and it was perfect. No bless in the grain.

Was there last Saturday to buy 3/4 white oak plywood and some purpleheart. Great selections and prices were in line for the quality of the wood. The staff was very helpful and even helped carry out and load up the plywood. I could have stayed hours just looking and imagining future projects.

Great place to pick up wood, no its not a lumber yard so there isn't a tremendous selection, but it's generally all of good quality and it's local.
As for the prices, you're paying for the convenience factor, so yes it's a little steep here. If you're trying to save money then I'd say drive down to Bristol and check out A.Johnson lumber mill. It's a bit of a drive but their selection is vast and -last I checked- you'll save a few bucks if you need more than just a single board for your project

excellent service, and they are incredibly knowledgeable about wood. I needed to create some custom shelves in my house and I was looking for a wood that would be dark enough when applying some dark tung oil. They suggested a cherry, and when looking at swatches of both regular and dark, it seemed to fit my needs fairly well.

I also am super pregnant, and when I went to pick up the board, they carried it out to my car and helped me strap it down (because the piece was longer than I requested!) out of my hatchback.

I'm new to woodworking and stopped in to pick up some material for a cutting board. Shopped around for 10-15 minutes, picked out a couple pieces that I though would meet my needs. at checkout I mentioned that I was building a cutting board and the man working the counter was quick to discourage the purchase of some of the pieces that I had picked out because they are a but to porous to use on a cutting board safely. he helped me pick out a couple other pieced with similar esthetics and price point, without the risk of food poisoning. Great customer service, knowledge and experience are both on point!!

These guys are the real deal, they stock a deep selection of hardwood and cabinet grade plywood at damn good prices. On my first visit they were happy to show me around the place, including their very well equipped mill shop, where a fair bit of custom magic happens... when I was there Jeremy was replicating some crown moulding from a local victorian restoration, by hand, with custom shop-made hand planes. Takes raw talent and no shortage of patience! Looking forward to my next need.
