Overall

These dirty crooks tried to get new tires out of me! They said I had to buy them new tires because the trailer brakes were set too high (which I did not, I have a vested interest in knowing that kind of thing, I have a trailer of my own I use on a regular basis.) What a load of garbage! If you do go here, take a picture of everything, use a penny in your photos of the tires and everything or you will get reemed.

Edit: Reply: That is not what this guy did! He just glanced at it! Liars will lie, people, don't be fooled.

I rented a 7x12 dump trailer from them on Friday. I needed to haul 3 tons of gravel with it for a patio in my backyard. I got the gravel to my house and lo and behold, the trailer won't dump. Ended up having to unload almost all of it by hand. We tried again after shoveling about 2 tons out, and it was able to dump the last bit of it. I rented a dump trailer specifically so I would not have to do this. it was almost 90° that day, and I had an 8 hour window that I needed to get the job done due to childcare and having equipment rented from another store. I live in Marysville, so bringing the trailer back to mount Vernon and having them figure out how to transfer the gravel to a new trailer was not an option. I was not able to complete the job. At the end of the day, i loaded maybe a yard of dirt into the trailer to take to the dump. Once again, got there and the trailer won't dump. Ended up having to take the trailer back in the morning full of dirt and told them they'd need to deal with it. They offered zero discount. I could have had the material delivered to my house and rented a smaller trailer for equipment hauling for the same cost, and eliminated all the shoveling. They did offer to let us take another trailer to finish the job on Saturday, but that was zero help. The store I rented the other equipment from let us borrow a trailer to haul their equipment back free of charge, and gave me an almost 50% discount when I had some issues with their equipment. So yeah, next time Sunbelt in Marysville will be getting all of my business.

Also worth mentioning, when I called to inquire about renting a dump trailer that could haul 5 tons, the girl had no idea what she was talking about. She first tried telling me that the curb weight was how much the trailer could haul. Then she said the 7x12 could haul 10,000 lbs. It has a 10,000 lb payload rating, so it could actually only haul just over 3 tons. I asked if it had ramps, and she asked what id be loading with them. I told her a mini skid. She said "oh no, the ramps aren't meant for anything that heavy". I knew there was no way that was correct, so I had to go on their website and pull up the listing and tell her the ramps could handle 10,000lbs. Not sure what mini skid weighs over 5 tons. I also asked if the trailer had a cover, and she said yes. It did not. Maybe she was new and still learning, and I can understand that, everyone starts somewhere. But management should either train their employees better before letting them answer customers' questions, or tell them that if they aren't sure about something, to go get a worker who does.

I've had multiple problems with them here. I rented a dump trailer and the battery was dead so I had to unload 4.5 tons of gravel by hand. They previously tried to sell me a used sk800 claiming all maintenance was up to date and the bushings were blown out. Their yard is small enough that you cannot turn around a truck and trailer and they told me they will be asking people to load and unload on the street out front of the business. I decided to give them one last chance and the excavator they rented me wouldnt fully clamp with the thumb making it impossible to pick up any debris I ripped out. I use the machine for 1 hour and returned it but they insisted on charging a full day. When I questioned it the guy got his feelings hurt and asked me stand out in the rain while he finished processing the return. I wasn't upset or angry or anything to justify making a customer wait outside. What a joke of a company

I had an interesting time at Ideal Rental the last 2 days. Rented a pressure washer (4200 PSI) and a rotary sidewalk cleaner. System did not work well. Had to convince desk person to reduce rental cost. Never had any trouble there until yesterday.

When my company occasionally doesn’t have what a customer needs, and they have to seek that item further away, I need to be able to trust where I refer them. Ideal Rent-All consistently earns that trust. Good people, efficient operation, and their leader, Michael and his excellent right-hand man Nick, are a credit to the rental industry. I’m proud to be a rental company owner myself, and to have peers and mentors like Ideal.
