Deciding to add solar to our RV was a big decision and we were pleased to find Madison Mobile Solar, in Madison. Jon Keevil met with us to learn what we wanted from solar use and talked us through several options available to us so we wouldn’t end up with something that was less or more than our needs. He evaluated our energy needs though our discussion and by testing all of the devices we use or plan to use in our RV travels.
He is calm and good natured and good at communicating at a level that was understandable to us.
He was good at molding a plan around our wishes and our cost limitations. He used a great spreadsheet tool to walk us through how modifications to solar would lead to battery requirements, wiring needs and costs.
Jon was great about sending regular progress updates and pictures during the build process. He has been very responsive to follow up when have contacted him with stupid questions as we have traveled. He genuinely wants us to be happy with and understand the system and that doesn’t happen very often when we purchase anything. Honestly, it has been a really nice experience to work with and get to know Jon along the way. We are very happy to recommend his work.
Our previous solar system caused an expensive repair to our Camper, nearly $15,000 in damages due to an electrical fire. Drove up from Chicago area in need of an upgraded system that will run flawlessly. I spoke with Jon and he helped address many safety issues from my previous solar setup that wasn’t efficient and a Hazard. Don’t DIY a solar system. Call Jon. Super friendly, does a clean install. During the repair we visited a coffee shop and a brewery nearby on foot to kill some time. Thanks Madison Solar, we can get back to the mountains to hike!

Would 100% recommend MadMobSolar (Madison Mobile Solar) to anyone looking to put together or help with an existing solar electrical system. We recently purchased a built-out ‘18 Ram Promaster that had solar with incorrectly done wiring, and with our departure date from STL coming quickly, Jon was extremely responsive in the initial communications and working to diagnose the issues ahead of time. He was able to get us in quickly, and throughout one day, he re-wired the panels up top and installed multiple enhancements (shunt for Victron and alternator charge on/off switch) and safety measurements in our electrical system to help before we hit the road. He fully explained the potential problems, diagnosis, and how it would help without pressuring us to do any of it. He walked us through what he completed along with a full system overview so we better understood what we had. It was well worth detouring our route to stop at his shop for all the work, and we would highly recommend Jon to anyone needing solar help even remotely close to the area. He even let us work in extra shop space while he worked on the van!

I can't say enough good things about Madison Mobile Solar and Jon's work and services. I was having substantial troubles in a rig I purchased last year. The solar install never functioned properly. Jon had my issues diagnosed in short-order and then rolled up his sleeves and resolved them all. But better yet, he took the time to drag me along every step of the way and to help me understand the system, how it functions, and how to trouble-shoot some things myself. I learned more in a few hours with Jon than I did in a year of digging and researching the interwebs trying to figure this thing out myself!
Jon is wicked smart and both a problem-solver and teacher by nature. This is a very much-needed service in this area, and I can't recommend Madison Mobile Solar highly enough. Effective solutions at honest and affordable prices. Highest accolades.

We would give more stars if possible! He not only fixed our solar mess from a previous installer, he listened to our needs and was (and still is!) kind and patient in explaining the system and being there when we have questions. He's the best!!

Jon is amazing. An absolute life saver. Very smart and he’s not afraid to share his knowledge. Ever since I started my solar project he was there to help and went above and beyond what I asked. If you’re planning to do a van or bus conversion or really anything Solar related, it can be daunting to say the least, but Jon and Madison Mobile Solar makes it easy! He will provide you with the best solar system out there. 10/10 would recommend this company to a friend. Thanks!!

MadMob has provided an outstanding solar solution for my 1996 roadtrek. Jon optimized an existing solar set up, but first we did an energy audit together that he translated into a dynamic excel file where I can specify use of my devices for a day. I now can easily understand if I will use all the energy of my batteries. What a relief!
Jon was highly collaborative, reassuring and did a premium job creating custom set up in the back of my rv. He cleaned up previous work, clearly labeled everything, created a wooden sled to easily make my batteries accessible, and taught me what the components were. The area is so tidy and I plan on expanding my system now that I found a trust worthy resource in my area. I love knowing exactly how much energy my devices consume and how much I can expect from my solar panels, and what I need to expand to adequately live off grid for my lifestyle.
