One wall of my 1957-built tub surround caved in -- common with those old bathroom tile walls. I had two tile guys (referred by friends) stop in to "take a look." One gave me a quote but never came through; the other disappeared without even a bid. So I went on the NARI website and found Matt at Tile Specialists of Madison. He was very professional and personable when he came to look and offered a very reasonable quote. I took a chance on him. Am I ever glad he did! His team of two was respectful and dedicated. The project took two days spread over three; each time they were here they cleaned up every last drop of dust. And when they were done my old bathroom was beautiful and new. I'm delighted with my bathroom and can't recommend these guys enough!

Matheus and his team did a fantastic job. We had a brick fireplace they tiled with Moroccan zellige tiles, which can be tricky. The project also involved trimming the wood surrounding the tile and required a bit of a build out to ensure symmetry. We couldn't be happier with the results. Tile Specialists were efficient, tidy, and great with communication. 10/10!

Tile Specialists are great to work with and they are overly accommodating to customer requests! Matt and team recently completed a tile renovation project that included multiple backsplashes in a kitchen and bath. Their quality of work and tile finish is evident in the final product. I’d recommend them to anyone!

Matt and his crew did impeccable work in laying the tile floor for my kitchen remodel. I was most impressed with the extreme precision they had in the job and the completely even grout lines. Also, they cleaned up when they were done!! This company was chosen by my general contractor but I would highly recommend them for your tiling jobs. It’s obvious they are professionals. Matt was very responsive to any questions and also was gracious and helped with a small side project. High recommendations for this company. You get what your pay for. They are worth every penny.

I had the pleasure to meet and hire Matt four years ago for a very small bathroom project in my new condo. It was such a joy to work with him, and the project turned out so well, that I kept him in mind when it came time to add kitchen backsplash. Before I contacted Matt for the second project, I had decided that the counters and kitchen sink should also be replaced prior to adding the tile. I thought I’d get a recommendation from Matt for counter replacement...and I was happy to discover that in the four years since I had first hired him, the scope of his business had changed so that he could take on the entire project! Within a couple of hours of my fist email we had some details worked out and a consult date scheduled. It only took a couple of meetings to work out details and we were ready to go until COVID came along. I requested that we delay the the work to keep things safe for my 87 year old father who lives with me. Matt had no problem adjusting the timeline and worked me back into his schedule at the appropriate time. I have to admit to some nerves around removing the old countertops. There was one section in particular that was a huge, heavy, all-in-one sink/counter that must have been a beast to deal with...but the moment I saw how carefully his crew was working with its removal, I knew I needn’t have worried. And that brings me to an important thing that I respect enormously about Tile Specialists of Madison: They care. They care about you, your space, your project, details small and large...and that caring shows in everything they do from planning, to prepping the workspace, and the skillful execution of the project. These are talented craftsmen who take pride in their work. You are paying for the materials and skill, yes, but they go beyond to give you the gift of something...more...in everything they do: Matt takes good care of his staff, they take good care of each other and you, the customer...and in the end you see that love woven into the outstanding quality of work in your remodeled space. Another thing that is amazing to see is all of the detailed preparation that goes into even the parts that no one will ultimately see! Everything that was prepped BEHIND the tile was just as beautifully square and neat-as-a-pin as you can imagine...and they even added reinforcement behind our drywall where a shelf was to be be installed above the sink so we’d never have to worry about its strength. Everything they do is engineered to last, from the first layer to the final grout. Tile Specialists of Madison also delighted us with details we had not even considered. When I did a mock-up drawing to show Matt what I was interested in, I drew in clumsy corners where the tiles butted up to one another. I figured I’d leave it to them to know how to make the corners work. I got mitered corners. Beautifully mitered corners that took a lot of fussing and measuring, and they look great. Also, we decided to replace switches and outlets all around the kitchen for a better color match—in the process he added in some safety features per code, and even FIXED an outlet that had malfunctioned ever since we moved in. Not only can I now run heavy appliances on that outlet, I can charge my devices too! To my delight, he’d added an outlet with USB charging ports to our kitchen island. Our crew were very respectful of our space and worked clean. They properly protected all surfaces and cleaned up at the end of each work session. At the end of the project we had one more quick meeting to be sure all the final details were wrapped up just right, and they most certainly were. I could not be happier. At the risk of sounding more like an advertisement than a review, I would recommend Tile Specialists of Madison without hesitation to family and friends, and they will be my first call should I choose to have more work done in my home.

It's not often that you encounter amazing service and super high quality work, but when you do you are left feeling pretty wonder-struck. I really can't say enough good things about Matt and his team at Tile Specialists of Madison. Truth be told I was a little bit dreading installing another kitchen backsplash on my own and the stakes felt pretty high to have it done right in our brand new home. So I am so thankful that my wife talked me into seeking out a professional, because that is truly what we found with Matt and his crew. Not only was Matt prompt to get back to my inquiry about installing our backsplash, but he was the only one of three companies that actually got back to me in a reasonable amount of time. I was ghosted by one tile company and the other one took over a week to respond. Right out of the gates it was clear that Matt had his act together and that's something I really respect. His pricing is straight forward and and it definitely reflects the quality of what you get. Shortly after talking we scheduled the two days it would take for the installation; one day to cut and hang tile and one day (half day) to grout. The day of the installation he and his team were on time and ready to go. They treated my home with absolute respect and put down mats to protect all the areas they would walk on and covered all my counters. Before they got to work Matt and I talked and reviewed the game plan, and let me just say that Matt is by far one of the nicest, even-keeled, and knowledgeable guys you will ever meet. Not only did he help iron out the details to make sure it would look great, but he went above and beyond when I told him how the tile shop had screwed up our order and hadn't provided the 2 feet of edging that was required - in response he simply ran to his truck where he was able to produce exactly what we needed and did so happily at no cost, despite me offering. Then again on the second day he showed up with a bigger bag of the exact same type of grout that we had ordered because he knew the tile shop hadn't ordered us enough and again did so at no cost to us (despite my offer), and said to just return the unused bag we had bought to the store. I really just can't say enough good things about Matt, he treats you like family and he makes sure you're taken care of and setup for success. His years of experience in the industry is very apparent and his customer service is top notch. Also when it comes to the guys on his team they were outstanding. They were beyond polite and even better they were meticulous about cutting tile for our kitchen, and it really showed with the end result. However if you really want me to sum up the caliber of guys were talking about, then let me share this little tidbit. On the first day of work (unbeknownst to me) my mother-in-law showed up to pick up an old mattress that we had in our garage that she was taking off our hands, and Matt's guys (unprompted) offered to help carry and load the mattress in her car. It's rare to find that sort of thing these days, and so it certainly left a lasting and super positive impression on me. In the end the level of service we received and the quality of the final result speaks for itself (see pictures). As my wife said when she saw the finished backsplash: "It looks beautiful". I can honestly say without a doubt that Matt and his team took our kitchen and made it feel complete, and they did so at a next level of quality that I would not have been able to replicate on my own. I would hands down recommend Matt and the Tile Specialists of Madison to anyone looking for some tile work; because with them you truly will be getting five star quality work and then some. Thanks Matt!
