One of the biggest monopoly companies in Wyoming. If you somehow have any other utilities provider take it. Truly the best example of a corrupted company. Don't bother with customer service either.
sucks that you don’t get any other options for utility companies. they absolutely exploit their customers and try to squeeze out every single penny. even got enrolled in their “budget” billing program (pay an average of the previous reading rather than what you actually used) at some point, despite never authorizing it, and it took me months to get it taken off. customer service never really helps either, bored and have attitude just about every time i call. at least they gave me examples of what i don’t want in an electric company, but i am definitely looking forward to moving states. a shady company with ever increasing ridiculous pricing.

Raised our bill $50 this month because we used over 250kwh less than last month, customer service has yet to respond back about this billing error. This company is a scam and folks need to stand up against them.

They did no communicate they were running new gas lines in the neighborhood. Their sub contractor turned around with dump trucks in our yard leaving huge ruts. The sub contracor did fix when I brought it up to the foreman. They came in the middle of the day to "relight" appliances didn't get home till 4 and had to call to get them to send a tech out. The customer service person couldn't give a time frame or even if it would be today. Zero notice from black hills or attempt to call that our gas would be interrupted. So maybe without cooking stove water heater and heat for the night at very least. All they would have to do is notify people but they cannot be bothered to have the common decency because they have a monopoly in cheyenne.

You cannot ever use their website, and when you call them you get placed on hold for forever listening to a recording tell you to use their website. I cant even access their website on my computer at all, and can sometimes use my phone to pay online on the rare occasion it actually works

I just love the fees, I love it even more when they go up. Without the transfer fees black hills would just not be the same. I love the fact that the fees are more than the actual amount of gas and power that I use. Oh and I love the way they communicate. Their customer service is top notch. Best employees ever. The world would probably come to a sudden stop if they weren’t around…………… greedy people with lack of common sense. I can only imagine the pure joy the employees have working for such a scummy corporation

They shut off my power 4 days before my bill was even due and then they demand i pay a reconnect fee to start it back up even though they were in the wrong. Extortion at its worst, these guys are crooks.
EDIT: in regard to the pathetic reply from their customer service, i have my personal phone number (set up with text alerts) and my email both connected to my account, yet i recieved no phone call, no email, and no snail mail to alert me of a disconnect... AND MY BILL STILL ISNT EVEN DUE UNTIL JULY 5TH. Scumbags. I have proof in my emails that my bill isnt due for another 3 days, yet my service was cut yesterday without warning.
