Overall

I regularly hire stump grinders and plate compactors from Kolun hire. They are half the price of Kennards. The gear probably isn't in as good a condition as kennards, you have to refill the fuel and the opening hours aren't as convenient but well worth the $$ saved. To the review saying an unbraked trailer broke your suspension is laughable. Your suspension was already stuffed mate and to the sook needing a tie down - Bring your own same as ANY hire place lol

I hired an excavator from this guys, not the first time, my vehicle is equipped to tow she’s a work beast however when given a trailer with brakes that don’t work properly and I end up having to replace leaf springs and bits of my tray mounts, the owner has failed to get back to be about anything and claimed ‘rainbow trailers’ in Queanbeyan said brakes were fine still can’t find this place, basically I’m out of pocket over $6k because they can’t make sure their stuff is safe to use and I’ve been patient and waited for them to get back to me but now they ignore me

Hired a chipper/mulcher for a good price including home delivery and collection. Delivered on time and was shown how to operate by Vital. Was texted the night before collection and driver was prompt to arrive. Mary in the office was able to clarify everything including the fuel requirements.

Excellent, friendly service. Ordered lawn aerator to use on a Saturday and they went the extra mile to collect it, even outside of their normal business hours (in the rain too!). Machine worked without any issues and was MUCH cheaper than any of the alternative businesses. Will definitely hire from Kolun again.

If there was a -5 star I would choose it. Didn't supply straps to tie down the machinery to the trailer we hired which is a legal requirement. We went to another company to check over the machinery and trailer because we did not feel safe using them. The hire company we had look at the equipment noticed there was no hydraulic oil in the machine and all the grease points were bone dry. They were also pulling handfuls of dirt as it hasnt been cleaned or serviced. Hopefully it doesn't break down on operating.
