The lady I spoke with was really helpful and polite, my item arrived promptly. The product I purchased, not so happy with, I purchased some spindles to repair a gate , the wood was a low quality and when the turning was done it was chunky and feathered, I tried sanding them but was not satisfied with the end result.

I live locally and buy locally whenever possible. I’ve bought mouldings from Fedwood in the past and various other specialty timber for our place. Despite paying more than from other suppliers I believe its a good thing to have a place like this locally. Today I went there to ask whether they would, for a charge of course as nothing is free these days, be prepared to cut down a 2m length bench top with one of their saws rather than me doing it, as my circular saw may not do it as well. No responsibility on them if their saw chips it. I just figured it would be a safer bet. They flat out refused saying if I didn’t buy it there they wouldn’t cut it. I appreciate they are in the timber selling business However I think we talk about supporting one another, establishing community and building culture around people supporting people and the fact is I don’t think it’s true everywhere. Again Fedwood’s choice and my choice every time I decide to buy products. But I wouldn’t categorise them a operator that supports the people that support them.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

I felt really strongly about supporting a local
Business but my expectations were exceeded!

Incredibly high quality products - done the old fashioned way- and it shows. Durability and craftsmanship - no corners cut. Very happy to pay more for the job well done. Still very reasonable and competitive pricing.

Lindsay- amazing customer service: took so much time to help us figure out what would work best for our situation and incredibly patient to make sure we were happy and got what he wanted. Went above and beyond for us. Felt like stepping back in time, in all the best ways. Such a breathe of fresh air in a city like Sydney where everyone just wants fast and cheap, and compromises on sustainability.

Turned the gate around very quickly and our carpenter bought all our timber for courtyard area as well. We absolutely love it and will be back for sure!

I hope this goes to the manager/owner. 3 times I’ve gone to your timber supplies this week. All I wanted was to build a frame for an old mirror. First time the bloke serving was helpful in quoting but was slightly discouraging about my choice of wood. I wanted something light and it seemed ok for what I wanted. He gave me a quote and send he could deliver.
I came back to buy the wood as you seemed to have a cheap quote but the first guy wasn’t there and the second guy was just saying wait for Lynsey. I could have bought the wood or something else there and then but the guy didn’t want to assist because he wasn’t able to quote the same price or didn’t deliver or something. Was told to come back Friday.
I came back Friday and saw Lynsey but he was sitting on his arse reading a book, points too the service area, said he vaguely remembered me, said the wood was scraped. What a disappointment in service. I could have bought something else but not interested in helping or suggesting something else. He didn’t want to engage me at all.
I don’t usually complain but very disappointed. I was going to get lattice and want to build some shelving but not thinking about going back anymore.
