These folks handled the end of our Ottawa to Halifax move. We'd contracted to have full service unpacking and removal of boxes, etc. They were friendly and took great care of our stuff, but lost steam before unpacking all our boxes. There were multiple promises to return for the empties, but they never showed despite multiple requests over two weeks. Great start, but disappointing end.

This happened years ago before there was a platform to share my story so I want to be clear that this didn't happen recently, but I still need to tell you that hoyt's moving is or at least was sleazy and I wouldn't even consider giving them my business.

years ago before anyone had dash cams, a Hoyt's moving van ran a red light and hit me head-on, obliterating the front end of my truck, and broke my hand where I was holding the steering wheel from force of impact. I got insurance info from the driver and later that day I called Hoyt's who tried to deny any accident happened. They said something about calling me back and then never did, and never returned my calls thereafter. They also refused to answer my insurance company's calls and I had no witnesses, so the accident was deemed my fault.

I was a small business owner, so I had no income for 2 months while my hand was broken, and my (commercial) insurance skyrocketed, for an accident that wasn't my fault . But hoyt's refused to own up to it, played hide and seek and got away with it. I want them to know that this really affected my life, and on top of it all, not long after the accident arthiritus began to develop at my injury, which gets more and more painful every year and does affect my ability to do certain things.
To this day I cannot believe they dodged responsibility on this and let me suffer as a result, and got away with it. This is not directed towards any current staff who may or may not have been employed at the time, but this truly happened and I wish it didn't.

Absolute 5 star service from Randy and his team. Both the load and unload went swimmingly and Randy managed everything excellently. On the unload Riley and Matthew joined and were just absolute professionals with moving my stuff, including an upright piano up a flight of stairs. I was a ball of stress after a house purchase but the lads took care of everything. Thank you gentlemen.

International move. Total and complete disaster. We had no choice of vendor for our move, if we had we would have dropped them immediately.

Six weeks later, still no cars. They have no idea what they're doing. Zero follow up, wrong documents were accepted, no responsibility is taken there by anyone. SO many excuses for everything it would be comical if it weren't draining our bank account.
We have filed a complaint with the BBB and spoken with an attorney to try to recover the financial losses we have experienced due to their neglect.
We're holding our breath on our household items, which were dragged across the driveway and left in the rain....
When we say "disaster" it's not an exaggeration. Just, wow. So neglectful and irresponsible with everything we own it's amazing. They CANNOT handle international moves even a little

Promised our cars again, messed up again and they don't seem to care, even a little. We're at over $4000. in expenses and they haven't answered the BBB. Just AMAZING they are so bad.

So .20 days later (2 months total) got the vehicles. One is damaged, but you "have to understand, it happens" and we were offered to get quotes to get it fixed from the employees family members businesses. It was as though we were ridiculous for being upset that the grill and front bumper are trashed. Wow.
