I was having issues with my Condo AC, and after property management telling me I would need the unit replaced, I decided to take things into my own hands and actually call a professional company for a second opinion. I sent Home Trade Standards an email on a Sunday and they got back to me on the Monday. Kevin was quick to set up an appointment for me and have a technician come out. Mo arrived on time and was happy to answer all my questions and take his time to advise on every step he was taking. He flushed out my system and it was back up and running just fine afterwards. They were also able to advise that it was in fact caused by the building repairs and had I not flushed out my system it could have caused further damages. I can honestly say this was the most exceptional service I received and will be recommending their services to everyone.

I can't recommend this company highly enough. I called this morning, urgently needing an air conditioning technician because my condo was unbearably hot as my AC wasn't working at all. Had a great experience with Home Trade Standards when I needed to urgently replace my furnace and hot water heater. My AC is a Skymark unit, which I understand to be a "MagicPak" type of system that consists of a furnace and AC combined into single unit. The company that produced these units has since gone out of business and parts for these units are no longer produced. When my compressor seized, I had a giant problem on my hands.

I reached out to a few companies that quoted me $14k+ for a replacement to the entire unit. I read that this could involve masonry work on the enclosure to accommodate a new unit, as well as potentially changing the vents in the apartment. I wanted a simpler solution.

The Home Trade Standards solution involved maintaining the system chassis while replacing the AC components within with new parts. They mentioned that they had experience working with these types of systems – and it really showed once the work began. The quote was for less than half what other companies were quoting, and the solution made sense.

Igor and Ash came to have a look at the unit and patiently answered all my questions before I received my quote. They also came to do the work a few weeks later and finished the job quickly (< 5 Hours). They were polite, friendly, and extremely professional. They left me the details of refrigerant and set up the thermostat for us. I don’t really know much about HVAC systems and this team put my mind at ease. I can't emphasize this enough - these guys were great.

I would highly recommend this company, especially if you have a Skymark unit of your own. It feels great to have this fixed right before the summer – and it feels great to crank this baby to the max.
