BBS have done excellent work for us. The organisation is exceptionally well managed and the staff are skilled, polite and helpful. We have worked with them for over two years and they have been brilliant at responding to, and dealing with snags that inevitably occur when major renovations have been undertaken. They project managed the development for us and thus avoided for us the challenges of waiting for the availability of a range of trades people. Highly recommended.

BBS carried out internal works on our house and we were really pleased with the results. Builders were considerate and left the house clean (which is rare!). Work was carried out on time and for a fair price. We would recommend them.

We very much regret using BBS. Far too many organisational failures to list, which partly arose because they just used our job to fill gaps elsewhere, and partly because the person supposedly organising the work seemed to be sleepwalking. Initial quote was quite high, but we went with it, mistakenly thinking that getting everything done by one company would make things run more smoothly. Quotes for additional work were ludicrously high - they claim to base charges on an hourly rate, but when we got other people to do the additional work, it typically took a third or less of the time that BBS tried to charge for. One plumber lied to cover up bad practise and also left grout to harden overnight on tiles. The electricians did well considering they were still at college. At the end, we were hounded for the final payment while still waiting for BBS to sort out various outstanding problems with their work!

We needed a builder to attach our cast iron drainpipe to the wall rather urgently. After speaking to BBS, and sending some photos over, a builder came that afternoon and began work. He was very tidy and considerate, even leaving the yard tidier than it was before he came! He did have to go out twice to get the correct sized bolts, which may have resulted in him having to return the next morning to finish off and then charging for the extra time. Very reliable, polite, and I would certainly recommend.

Highly recommended !
I took over a small period house in central Lancaster with great ideas – but had a shock once the previous owner had removed all the furniture.

I tried to get a couple of quotes from different companies, but had a few no shows or no feedback - then I found BBS. I was particularly looking for a local company with renovation experience which understood my vision and wishes, BBS quickly provided all this.

Within a very short time we made a first appointment, thoroughly went through the building discussing all requirements and issues, and by the end of the week I had a comprehensive, realistic and reasonable quote.

The renovation work carried out was extensive: floorboards, plastering painting, doors, electrics, stonework etc. and all carried out to a very high quality. Despite my frequent and long absences from LA the team kept me updated on each and every development, maintaining a photo gallery to illustrate the progress made or as a basis for questions and clarification. We had regular contact on all aspects of the work, explaining each stage of the renovations which was very reassuring.

Throughout the work BBS provided valuable advice and realistically considered any ideas and suggestions. The team was a dream to work with, the quality excellent and communications faultless and all work was completed within the agreed the time period. I wish all service providers would pay the same attention to customers and quality as BBS does, I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending them.
