Constantly find that this shop closes early, which is annoying they could just advertise the actual hours they’re open. Close before 4:30 pm advertise open till 5pm.

City Plumbing: Unprepared and Unhelpful

Absolutely appalling experience with City Plumbing. On Friday at 11:20 am, I called to inquire about a pulsacoil immersion heater. Specifically, I wanted to confirm if it came with a thermostat. The person on the phone (they don't give names, by the way) said yes, the thermostat was included.

Based on this confirmation, I factored the price of the thermostat into my budget for the project. So, imagine my frustration when I arrived to pick up the heater and discovered there was no thermostat!

This threw a wrench into my plans, and the cost was higher than anticipated. When I tried to explain the situation, the staff member I spoke with simply kept asking who I spoke to on the phone. It seems like they have no system for identifying who answers the calls!

To make matters worse, there was no manager available to address the issue. The staff member just shrugged and acted like it wasn't their problem. Unbelievable!

Here's the bottom line:

Untrained staff who can't provide accurate information.

No system for identifying who answers the phone, making it impossible to hold anyone accountable.

Unhelpful and dismissive attitude from staff when faced with a problem.

If you're looking for a reliable plumbing company with knowledgeable staff and a commitment to customer service, avoid City Plumbing at all costs.

I have been living in the area for over a decade and I found it quite strange I didn’t knew the existence of this place, as well because I work in the plumbing and heating industry.
The process of ordering parts was easy enough as the place wasn’t busy but the following day there was only one guy serving, when I came to collect the parts the queue was never ending. Clearly all the BG guys coming here are wasting time chatting as they don’t charge by the hour to all the rest of us 45 minutes to collect the part you ordered the day before while on a job is unacceptable, there is no customer out there who’ll pay an engineer 45minutes of their time to collect a part which was ordered the day before 2 minutes from where they live, I understand if it was a local family run plumbing shop with one person behind the counter but we are talking about a big multinational company, not impressed at all, one star too many.
