Overall

I broke a bulb on my lamp and he supplied me with a new one. However when I got it home and put it in my lamp it didn’t work. I went back the following day with my lamp and he very kindly and at not extra charge checked my lamp over and solved the issue. From now on I will only buy bulbs from here. These places are very rare these days and we as customers should do everything we can to ensure it doesn’t close.

Bought a very overpriced kettle in an emergency which broke because just over a month later. Was left waiting in the shop for 10 mins as the owner was next door dealing with something else. When he did appear he refused a refund and said exchange only but then changed his mind and said we'd have to write to the manufacturer. Terribly poor service

Fantastic service. Showed me how to replace a dimmer unit, gave me all the parts, all at a very good price. Best in town

I rarely write reviews but this shop really deserves some praise. I bought a power cable - which incidentally I couldn't find in 3 other shops - and which, joy of joys, didn't come encased in hard plastic or cellophane. Back at home I discovered I'd mis-measured and it was just too short. The owner immediately found me a longer one and, despite the fact that it was priced higher refused to take any more money. He also gave advice about a couple of other things I was looking for. Proper old school knowledgeable service in a shop that's a glorious jumble of anything and everything electrical.

Entered this shop to look for a lamp post that could fit a specific bulb, an smart lamp, that would facilitate the life of a disabled person.

The old bald rude man sat on his chair showed me an adaptor, I explained again, nicely, what I was looking for. He said that he had the item, but would only show if I'd pay, i said that "i can't pay for something i can't see" he said, then, that I should leave.

The lamps post I wanted cost £20 and I was willing to get 4, but he probably has a lot of money and doesn't need customers, didn't even bother try to understand. So I strongly advise not to got if you're unwilling to pay to see items that you already want to buy, and be treated rudely.
