Advanced Pools did an amazing job on our pool. Couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable experience. Employees and workers were all knowledgeable and pleasant. Starting Objective: A practical, cost-effective pool to be enjoyed by family.

Outcome: A practical, cost-effective, better than expected pool (and experience) that is currently enjoyed by family.

To Consumers: Do your research. Have realistic expectations. Building a pool is literally going to convert your home into a construction zone for a few months. Building a pool involves sub-contracting with different contractors (i.e., excavation, electrical, tile, concrete, pump, piping, etc. You will have multiple construction staff coming and going with heavy equipment based on their availability for the project. Be mindful that project will take about two months, if you plan ahead. If you decide to build later in the Spring or early Summer, expect delays. Pool companies may be juggling 20+ pools at a given time. Also, there are only so many sub-contractors in any given area. Many pool companies will charge more while using the same sub-contractors!

Challenges: Limited and understandable (i.e., minor cracks in stamped concrete, minor cracks in plaster and minor issues in plastic component parts that were replaced). Took a while (over a month) to pour the last bit of concrete. I appreciate the lengths that Robert (concrete) took to finish and fix some of the concrete issues. One issue I was concerned of was the Better Business rating and I discussed with Mike. Mike did a great job addressing my concerns and I found him to be honest, direct and transparent. If not for the cracks in the plaster (again, minor, but more than expected), this would've been a 5 star review. This should really be a 4.5 stars.

Pros: The people. Mary (who’s sadly is leaving) did a great job maintaining communication (thank you Mary!) with us and her customer service did wonders for our experience. Juan, who served as a project manager of sorts, was on site during parts of the project ensuring oversight. I really appreciated Robert who came to my home a few times at the end of the day to take care of concrete related issues, including on a Sunday morning! Mike (sales) was knowledgeable, provided practical and objective feedback when exploring features. Also, Advanced does not sub-contract concrete work. This is critical to pricing.

Summary: I got more than I expected. We ended up with a beautiful, pool/spa combination that was beyond practical. A free-form design, larger pool than expected with features that I would not have gotten elsewhere at a reasonable price with great customer service. We’ve used our backyard in one month more than we have in 4 years! I would strongly recommend Advanced Pool to friends and family. If I ever build another pool, the first thing I would do is call Mike. Thank you to Advanced Pools and the wonderful people who are changing the fortunes of this company.

Overall very happy with our pool and service. Mike did everything we asked for and didn't try to up sell things we didn't need/want. Mary was always great at keeping us informed of schedules and if she didn't have an answer she was quick to find out and get back to us. So far our pool service guy has been great and we are loving our pool. Reading lots of negative comments here but we had a great experience so thank you Brian, Mike, Mary and the whole staff!
