Overall

I had a wonderful experience working with Nick. I was looking for a piece of redwood for a floating mantel for my home. When I reached out, he invited me to his workshop so I could see some of the options in person. Nick asked all the right questions to quickly understand exactly what I was looking for. That ended up being a challenge - the kind of piece I had in mind was really tough to find. Nick was super helpful, guiding me and pointing me in the right direction. In the end, I found the perfect redwood mantel that fit my tastes exactly. Nick went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied. I'm so grateful to Nick for all of his help. He is a true craftsman who is passionate about his business and helping his customers. My experience was top-notch from start to finish, and I'm so pleased with the beautiful piece Nick helped me find. Thank you, Nick!

Overall

We donated 6 old growth Sequoia Redwood trees to Bay Area Redwood as we were forced to cut them down. We were extremely sad to lose the trees as our beautiful little grove was like family. I couldn't bear the thought of our beautiful trees going in a chipper.

Fortunately, we found Nick and he coordinated everything for us. He took our trees to his property to dry so they could be used in furniture making. At the time he told us that we could have pieces of them to make furniture for our home, I'd love nothing better that to bring a piece of them back where they belong.

Fast forward, that was over 2 years ago and we've reached out to Nick several times, including going into his shop at the City Center. We've had no response and I've given up hope of ever seeing my trees again.

The only positive in this situation is that he did save 6 glorious redwood trees from the chipper. For that I will always be grateful.

Absolutely love my custom slab for the standing desk I built! Nick (owner) was great to work with: very responsive, knowledgeable and accommodating. He quickly understood exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier with the end result - high quality and absolutely stunning. Will definitely be going here for all my wood needs. Not to mention feeling good about supporting a business that gives new life to fallen trees.

If I could give a 10-star review I would. We stumbled across Bay Area Redwood while we were on the hunt for the perfect dining table. Nick and Luis absolutely delivered.

Working with Nick was such a joy - he guided us through the process and kept us in the loop the entire time. I learned so much about the different wood grains and trees in the area, and after going back and forth on slab options, Nick picked out the most spectacular, sustainable, slab for us.

Regarding the table itself, Luis’ craftsmanship is unlike anything I’ve seen, he did such a fabulous job on the actual table finishing. His expertise and customer service were impeccable and he even adjusted the installation of the table legs (also beautiful and unique!) upon delivery to ensure our dining chairs would fit perfectly beneath. It's seriously so so stunning.

This is by far the most lovely piece of furniture we have ever owned or come across - and will be cherished for years to come. Sharing food and space with people we love is so special to us - and to be able to do so over this dining table brings us such joy!

If you want a beautiful, functional, work of art - and you want to do the right thing for our environment - work with Nick, Luis, and Bay Area Redwood. They will make your furniture dreams come true.
