I had a great experience with Pella windows. I had already replaced several west-facing windows and a sliding door in 2019 and needed replace the remaining windows. The windows went in quickly, and they look beautiful.

In 2019, one of our plate glass front windows was accidentally broken by a neighborhood kid. I was considering replacing it with another inexpensive plate glass window. However, a Pella rep sold me on Pella windows due to their amazing replacement policy. Clif assured me they would be replaced for free if there was another similar incident. Fast-forward to 2023, and the same window was accidentally broken by a different child. Pella will NOT replace the window for free. It will cost about $800. This is my own fault for not reading the written agreement closely enough. I was deceived. Don't make the same mistake.

3 stars became the Pella windows are nice when they're not broken.

I recently needed to replace almost all of the windows in my house. I decided to go with Pella. Don't make the same mistake.
I was called the Friday before the installation to get an estimated arrival time and they wanted the rest of my money then. I told them “No” as I was told it would be COD and delivery wouldn’t happen until Monday. The truck showed up on Monday and the driver called ME asking where the installation crew was. He called the office (Angela) and he told me that she was expecting my call for the rest of their money. I called her and she told me that it was just a drop off that no installation was happening that day and she wanted my money. I told her that, yes, an installation WAS scheduled for that day and she would not get my money until the product was delivered. After two additional calls to other people she was told there actually was an installation and that the crew would be there soon.
After 3 days: 1. They had damaged my upstairs windowsill that they had to repair, 2. There were multiple windows that had damage in the drywall around them (one they fixed with caulk instead of drywall), 3. Almost ALL of my windows were filthy, 4. There was trash and dust left all over my house, and 5. There were visible issues with the caulking inside the house. There was missing caulk around most of my windows (inside and out), they left 2 HUGE holes (about an inch in diameter) in my outdoor siding around one of my windows and it had rained so water had gotten into my house, there was trash all over the place, my windows whistled with the wind, water got inside my house from poorly installed windows and they left shards of glass on my kitchen countertop and floor. I called my project manager Griffin who said that he would get someone out to assess the situation. He said he couldn’t get anyone out to my house until the following week.
When Larry showed up, he said that he would work with Griffin to get the “SHOTTY WORK” taken care of for me. They fixed 1 issue. I fixed the rest: holes in the siding, dirty handprints on every wall near each window, re-caulking, washing windows, swept/vacuumed. Overall, I probably spent just over 40 hours cleaning and fixing my house after the crew left.
The additional crew was at my house to reinstall the 6 of my 20 windows. Their words: “I’m glad that crew was fired so I don’t have to clean up any more of their messes,” “I showed up and I said to myself, it looks like a BOMB went off in here.” Many of the cuts they made with the saw were crooked or cut too much out of my siding. Austin said that he couldn’t believe the poor work that had been completed since this was an “easy job – it’s just vinyl windows and drywall.” They spent an additional 3 days at my house re-installing, re-caulking, painting, and fixing my windows.
When done, I called Griffin and he offered me $250 and said that they don’t give customers back money for bad work that they can fix. He said “well…we have had to spend more money on labor to fix the issues, so we’ve taken a hit already.” I told him that that was not my problem. He then asked me, “Will $1,000 fix this so we can both walk away amicably?” I said “no”. He passed me on to the Customer Experience department and she told me she was authorized to offer me $2,000. I told her that that was not enough. She would take my request to the executive committee. I’m not sure who was included in that committee. I don’t know if the CEO of Pella in Colorado, Cole Adrian, or the CEO of Pella nationally, W. Timothy Yaggi, were involved in final decision to dismiss me, but, I was told Pella was not going to give me any additional dollars over the $2,000 offered. They felt that they had done what they needed to do to remedy the situation. So, I’m assuming to them the “shotty work” was fine since they “fixed it” – after creating the problem in the first place. My opinion of Pella after going through all of this nonsense – they do not care about their customers. If you are in the market for a window company, I would advise you not to choose Pella. It’s not worth it.

Had the windows installed on Super Bowl Day. The installers appeared to be in rush to complete the window projects and did not admit that they damaged three different parts. They were about leaving the house without asking me to check the windows, but I requested one of them to stay until I checked everything, and I found those damages. My concern with the company was their INTERGRITY. My questions, why did they not inspect the windows before installing? Or did they already damage them while installing without letting me know? I requested for the new window replacements again.

About a month and half later, I finally got my windows replaced. They did better this time, unfortunately they did not earn my trust. I just wanted to share my experiences with the potential buyers. See photos what they had damaged when they first installed.

We had a consultation with Matt Griffin to design and replace out front door and accompanying side windows with a solid black walnut option. Matt was very fun to work with and was able to design the exact door we were looking at. He was easy to reach out to throughout the process and always got back to us with any questions or updates we had. Pela as a company did a fantastic job from start to finish. Our installers were very respectful of out home and did a fantastic job removing the old door, installing the new door, and cleaning everything up. They managed to do this without any damage to the surrounding stucco etc. I am incredibly pleased with the service we received. The attached photos show the before and after.

The guys from Pella just finished installing our new door and we could not be happier! Our installers were Dustin, Dave, Max and Tyler. Each one of them was friendly and professional. As I watched them take out the old door and install the new one, I felt pretty sure that this was the level of care they would use when installing a door in their own homes. They kept things extremely clean during the whole process, not just after they finished. They showed up 10 minutes early, and worked efficiently with a minimum of noise outside of what would be expected to remove and install a front door. I would highly recommend these installers to anyone, and I'm confident that they would not be disappointed.

This is a review of the Pella Window purchase/installation on 8/10/2018. This was my first purchase and experience with Pella Windows and Doors, Inc, and my first with any Pella product. I was drawn to Pella after much studying of their product reviews and their long reputation of good service. Since then I have made 2 additional purchases. This company pays immeasurable attention to detail in all aspects of their service.

Initially, a representative, Nathan Anderson, visited my home. He was very professional, understood my concerns and requests, and extremely knowledgeable about the product he represented. He was also very considerate about making sure that I had every financial advantage for which I was eligible. He was also very tolerant and kind re: my hyper dog and pesky cat!

About a week later a visit was made by the man who was in charge of the installation. He reviewed what I purchased and the details of the installation, going over all measurements. He was very professional and considerate.

On the day of the installation, Julio and Zuri arrived on the day specified and the time agreed upon. They were very skilled tradesmen. They were considerate, efficient and focused. The windows were installed quickly and perfectly. The windows look beautiful inside and out. And there was not a speck of mess inside or outside the house when they left. The windows sparkled as if there was no glass there at all!

Everyone coming in to my home raves about the windows, and indeed they look wonderful and brighten my home beyond belief. Also, Autumn and Winter have passed and now in to Spring, and the windows have made a very big difference in the heat retention and coziness of the house.

I highly recommend this company and this product line. And I know you will be happy living with these windows!
