Stay away from this place! They are not interested in making their mistakes right. We had all our kitchen island and countertops fabricated and installed by them. It was a new home, under construction at the time. After they installed the countertops they covered them with a blue plastic film. The builder then put cardboard over the film to better protect them. When the cardboard and film was removed, our project manager was there as well as my wife and I to witness the unveiling. We immediately inspected the counters and found numerous scratches and gouges. We reported them to Distinctive. They blamed the trade workers although we told them there were was no damage to the cardboard or the blue film. They eventually agreed to send someone out to polish the scratches out. A worker tried to polish the scratches out but they were too deep. After several months they agreed to send out another worker with a better machine. He polished for about 4 hours. When he was done, the high gloss finish was gone and it quartz had a dull rough look to it. If we slide a cookie sheet or pan across it, it leaves a black mark which is very difficult to remove. They then submitted a claim to the quartz manufacturer. The factory rep. looked at it and took photos that he sent to the warranty department. He told us the fabricator should not have tried to polish it in place and that the only way to get the factory finish back was to remove the material and send it to a shop that has the machine to re-polish it. The warranty claim was denied because Distinctive had polished it in place. It’s been almost a year and at this point, we want Distinctive to replace the countertops because they have made such a mess of them. They are unwilling to do that. We paid top dollar for these countertops and they are much worse than others that were half the price that we had installed in our last home. Very disappointed.

Purchased quartz counters through Home Depot and they used DSI for the install. Two installers were quick and professional (Enrique and his partner whose name escapes me). They pointed out an area of the cabinet that needed support and instructed us on what to do. Counters and backsplashes look great. Wish I remember the other guy's name.

We had Distinctive Surfaces come out twice for our kitchen and bathroom remodel, installing new quartz countertops. Those experiences went well. We were sad when a pea sized, noticeable chip happened on our kitchen countertop about a year later from install, but they were very kind to wave the fee for repair.

For the repair however, our guy was not on time. Arrival window we got was 10-2 but he didn’t arrive until 4:30. I called around 2:15 to ask what the ETA was for the job. It would have been nice to have gotten a call from the company that they were running behind so I didn’t have to call. The guy they sent did a great job on the countertop so that’s why I’m giving a 4 star rating. Unfortunately we noticed a huge scratch on the top of our dishwasher where the chip was due to the tool he used to fix it. He also left a sharp razor blade in the kitchen sink and dust on the floor, counters, and cabinets. Leaving the job not vacuumed seems to be a common occurrence for most Florida businesses when it comes to home repair, however, so I wasn’t surprised by that (we have had many contractors in our home the past year due to remodeling).

We bought countertops from Home Depot and they subcontracted it out to this company. First they scheduled us between 12 and 4. We did not hear anything from them by 3:30 so decided to call them. They told us they were running behind and wanted to come at 7 at night to do it. We told them it was to late and they rescheduled us for the morning. The next day they came out, took all the plumbing apart then realized they cut the countertop wrong and left us without water. Finally a month later after THEY cut the countertop wrong, they came and installed it.( After them telling us we needed a knee wall for support) they used 3 wood screw to support the overhang and not even touching the knee wall. This company lacks professionalism and work quality. The pictures below are of the support screws, you can also see the gap between the knee wall and countertop.

Selected material and purchased through Home Depot. Was put in contact with DS representatives and was a breeze from there. The measurement crew went over all the final details and double checks with me onsite. Install crew was proffesional and clean. They even worked out some tricky install details with my permission. Team avoided any awkward jamming or potential scratch points on the Cabinets sides. Final install looks great.

What a refreshing business to deal with. I'm writing this review to commend this company for their highest level of customer service in response to a slight issue. At first, my install was slightly different that I expected. There was a communication issue, which was partially my fault. Rather than blame me, they immediately re-worked the problem at great expense to them, until I was 100% happy. The quality of the install on an extremely difficult job was incredible. The only component better than the install was the incredible communication. As soon as there was an issue, the GM, Brian, immediately contacted me and gave me his cell phone number saying "we're going to get it perfect". And that's what they did. If you want a guarantee that a business will stand behind their work, use Distinctive Surfaces.

The staff is courteous and patient and I was not their easiest client to deal with. The salesman did a wonderful job of putting us in the correct product for our price point. The granite we chose fit our colorway perfectly and looks expensive even though it wasn't. The templater was both professional and knowledgeable and the installers were awesome. The install went without a hitch and they left the jobsite looking better than it was before they came. We are very happy with Distinctive Surfaces and will be using them in the future when we build our next home.
