We had the BEST experience with Fabros Trimwork! They made our living room come to life with custom built-ins that look amazing. The entire team was professional and very attentive to detail. The workmanship is immaculate and quality is top notch. Definitely exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be using them again!!

I'm genuinely torn on this review, but ultimately fairly dissatisfied.

At the top, please know the Fabros team is responsive and kind.

That said, I had asked for about 450 linear feet of trim to installed (250ish of baseboards and 200ish of door trim).

Things started off rocky on Day 1 as the wrong trim profile was brought, but it was pre-primed. Luckily I stepped outside and caught this error before install began. I will give props to the Fabros team as they were very kind and quick in ordering the correct profile and moving installation to the next day.

The next day, installation took place over 6-7 hours - very impressive speed, which is always nice. However, while the trim was the correct profile, it was not pre-primed. This adds a huge burden to us as home owners as now we have to prime it ourselves or add substantial cost to any painters we pay. Further, as I've been walking around over the last two weeks, I am finding many spots of rough pine that will, again, require ample labor to fix (see attached photos) - absolutely heartbreaking.

Finally, the final issue, which I much bear responsibility for: cost. Looking back, I should have gotten more quotes but I was in a rush to get some trim in. Even assuming a high material cost of $2.50 / ft (though even I, a normal consumer, can get quality unfinished pine for less than $2.00 / ft easily enough), the math works out to me paying over $4/ft for installation or, hundreds of dollars per hour for installation.

Again, keep in mind this was JUST cutting and install. No caulking. No prep. No paint. Ultimately, I just cannot understand how I was charged so much.

Now I'm looking at several weekends of time to prep this and prime the plain wood or several thousand dollars to outsource. If I do the latter, I'm looking at at least six grand to install and paint basic clamshell trim. Oh well, lesson learned.

It’s been a longtime dream to have custom built-ins in our home, and the Fabros team made this dream a reality. The entire experience, from start to finish, exceeded expectations. Each member of the team—Slav, Igor and Alex, along with a couple of apprentices—were HIGHLY professional, friendly, fun, responsive and the best at what they do. Fabros is well worth a premium. The process was so enjoyable and the final product is beautiful. What more do you need? I can’t wait to hire them again for another project.
