Scott and his crew were amazing to work with. Was always available and easy to contact with questions and updates.

After talking with several companies initially after some storm damage, it was clear that Scott really knew the insurance process and stayed on top of things, making sure deadlines were always met.

The new roof and replaced gutters look amazing. They were all very professional and took great pains to leave no trace during and after job completion.

I worked with this guy on my house for a few different issues,

1) A roof replacement. He gave me a decent quote and his crew did come out and finish the job. However, one thing I noticed is that they blew/swept all the roof debris down my gutters and into my drain tile which is a big no-no as it can clog those up and prevent proper drainage. I mentioned the issue to Scott and he ignored it like "no big deal" and he didn't seem to care.

2) Fixing my garage door trim which the previous owners hammered nails in for christmas lights and caused water to rot the wood out behind the siding. They did a decent job here and I am happy with it.

3) Replacement of all gutters on my house. They did a decent job here and I was happy with it.

4) I contracted him to fix my jacuzzi tub. He did a bait and switch on me for prices giving me a cheap initial quote, then later giving me an official quote where prices were double. I called him out on it like how did that happen? During this, he called out plumbers to measure things and look at the plumbing for the tub and was about to start work. Then he disappeared completely and stopped responding to any emails.

That said. Maybe I'd use this guy in a pinch but he seems a bit too flakey for my tastes. I'd recommend finding another company. I look at him like a typical contractor that will only do the most profitable jobs and then not really warranty or care about the smaller/less profitable jobs.

Like everyone else has said Scott does a phenomenal job. Recent homeowner with possible hail damage, Scott came out explained everything and broke down the whole process. Worked with my insurance and was here to address any question or concern I had. Would recommend him and his team for any job.

Scott Hintz is a pro! He knows his business very well and is extremely professional and responsive and their work is top notch. We had Scott do a previous small job for us and decided we wanted him to replace our roof, skylights, gutters, downspouts and gutter guards when we were hit with very large hail on 6/25/2023 in Waterloo. Scott came quickly to look at our roof and found a lot of hail damage, we called our insurance company and we got our adjuster quickly and then we received our check. We were shocked at how fast Scott’s team got here to get our work done. It is complete now and it looks great! We so appreciated all his knowledge with us so that we could make the right choices for our roof, skylights and gutter guards. Scott’s team was polite, friendly, tidy, and did great work! It’s so nice to have a contractor leave with everything looking so clean and tidy and exactly like it was when they arrived. They took care with our landscaping, flowers and home to avoid any damage.
It’s refreshing to work with a team so competent!
We highly recommend them!

Very happy working with Scott and Advanced Building & Design! Our home received minor damage from the recent severe storms (lifted/curled shingles) and we were worried we would get hit with additional water damage from another set of storm. Scott came recommended and he did not disappoint. Within a day of calling our roof was fixed, well ahead of the next storm! He is extremely responsive, highly professional, very knowledgeable and willing to share his insights, and completely reasonable on pricing. I definitely recommend using Advanced Building & Design and looking forward to working with them again!
