Mike is a craftsman of the highest calibre! He is a young man with the skills and knowledge of an old world master carpenter. If it is possible to achieve perfection, his projects for us -- so far -- have been so.

Bad experience! Never again! I made some classical mistakes and paid for it dearly. If you are considering doing business with this vendor, I would suggest reading this posting.
The goal was simple I wanted 4 frames made 33" x 30" and 25" x 25" one 34" x 52" one mahogany 24 x 52. I had exiting solid wood molding already stained and varnished for 3 of the 4 frames. I needed the frames mitered at a 45-degree angle and 3/4 inch added to the back of each to make them thicker. I also wanted him to repair two small oak carvings.
I called then later stopped by the by and talked to the owner Mike Miller. Showed him what I wanted, and he agreed it take 3-5 hours tops to do all three frames at $75 per hour. Stain and finish. I then later told him I wanted to make a mahogany mirror frame too he again stated 1- or 2-hour labor. So Maximum 7 hours X $75 = $525 plus staining and finishing. ($525 + $400 = $925) When I got the bill, he wanted $1929.00. You can imagine my surprise. My mistake. I did not get it in writing!!!
In addition to the shocking price of $1,929.00 Mike Miller told it would take a month or two but in fact it took one year. I must have called him 20 times asking for a progress only to be told he has not started. Finally, after several months I told him I was going to stop and pickup my stuff for him to get it done. When I receive my frames the stain was horrible. It looked like someone spray painted the stain this is what I told him I did not want. Mike told me he has the best stain finisher in the business. I respectfully disagree. Several other issues of workmanship: The wood frame was also cut uneven, he cut the recessed hanging bracket the wrong way. I had to have some else router is correctly. The corners were not squared for my glass insert so I the corners had to be hand chiseled. I had to always call him and re-remind him about the dimensions and what I wanted done. He kept forgetting.
In my opining Millers Millworks work was sub-par in addition to a terrible stain quality. I feel he lied to me and took advantage of me. Never in my 45 years have I felt so ripped off. I hope you do not have the same experience. Some advice. Get all quotes and prices in writing with exact start and stop times. I will never do business with this person not only for taking advantage of me but for the true lack of quality of work, professionalism of his promise of cost to me. He did eventually reduce his price to $1,500.
