Being on a condo owner. We have a contract with Schindler. They won't return phone calls or emails. The service is the worst that I have ever dealt with. We have had an elevator malfunctioning for 2 weeks. Nothing heard from Schindler. Over Christmas same elevator was down for a month. Don't ever sign a contract with Schindler. Would give zero stars but it won't let me.

They do not answer or return phone calls. They do not respond timely to major maintenance issues. They give you phone numbers which lead you to no one.

For the first several years of our service contract, Schindler's preventative maintenance was outstanding. Then all of a sudden we stopped seeing any maintenance technicians coming regularly, only when the elevator actually had a problem. Our contract was for monitoring AND preventative maintenance. For at least four of five years I've been trying to get a response as to what has changed and why, and what dates we actually got service. Once in awhile I will get a response that they will look into it, or to bring it to the attention of someone. Then I never hear back on my issues---those people just email asking about payment. When I ask about my issues, they just ignore me. I've even tried emailing their corporate office, using the link on their US headquarters website, and haven't received a response of any sort (not even an automated reply that they'll get back to me). Most disappointing, considering our first few years of satisfaction. After not paying our invoice until we got some answers, they put us on hold, and we got another company to provide service. They keep saying we can't cancel the contract, but the original terms discuss breach of contract, and not providing the service we contracted for would constitute a breach. Easily the worst customer service I have received from any company ever.
Update: years later we every so often get a call for an "overdue invoice." I never heard back from corporate when I emailed them directly about when they actually had visited to do the preventive maintenance they claim we owe them for.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. We waited 8-1/2 hours for someone to come out and unlock a door. I suppose it was a good thing nobody was trapped in there needing medical care.

Made delivery at this location. Everything went according to plan. Everyone was great, excellent customer service. Shout out to Tony, thank you Sir!

Schindler is always there when we need them! You pay a little extra for the service but it is well worth it. Highly recommend them!

I used to have them service my elevator… Lots of things to complain about. Ended up going with a smaller local company.

They misdiagnose, overcharge and generally suck. If they quote you something, find a second opinion. My advice.... find a different elevator company to work with.

1-star only because zero is not an option. Terrible customer service. terrible communications. Installed a different sized car than what was on their shop drawings. Had to tear out walls that were approved by their field superintendent because the car came out different than what was approved.
