Tried to sell me a $2900 complete sump pump system replacement, when all I needed was a routine backup battery replacement.

At the time, I was pretty clueless about how the system worked. Pump was working, but a warning light/sound was on. Plumber looked at it for <3 mins before recommending replacement, with no other options. Another reputable plumber came and said my system was fine, and just needed a fresh backup battery, which I could pick up from a supply house and easily install myself. (I did.)

It's tempting to conclude that Brenneco was trying to take advantage of my (then-) ignorance, but maybe he just came to a different conclusion.

Either way, I'm glad I called someone else! Since replacing the battery (1 month ago), everything has been back to normal.

If he simply came to a different conclusion, some options and/or more detail would have been nice. While he was here, he wouldn't give me a price, saying he needed time to prepare a quote. The "quote" was just a number in a text message. He wouldn't give a breakdown of parts vs labor, saying it was a flat price. In that case, why couldn't he tell me that flat price up front?

On the upside: Brenneco got me an appointment quickly, and charged only $48 for the visit. I do appreciate that. Since their average rating is currently 4.9/5.0, I gather other people had much better experiences.

Max and Mike removed my old water heater and installed a new tank less water heater. They did a good job and were friendly and professional. While I think it was still a little pricey, it was still cheaper than Anderson heating and air conditioning.

I recently had a drainage issue in my house. Brenneco sent a technician (Joel) to check it out. Joel quickly pin point the problem. Followed his instruction, we had a handy man company (Home Care & Repair) to open a 1 foot square hole in the closet wall. Joel sectioned the drain pipes. It turned out that the elbow of cast iron tube (old house) was rusted after so many years, and totally blocked the pipe. Joel replaced the section with PVC pipes and now everything runs charming! The cost for the repair is very reasonable also. I would highly recommend Brenneco (and Home Care & Repair). They are professional and respond very quickly.

Our experience with Brenneco began when they were recommended to us by a heating and cooling company in Lafayette that we have been doing business with for over twelve years. When I called to discuss the work we needed to be done, Becky was very helpful and gave us more confidence in our decision to use Brenneco for our plumbing needs. She even matched us with the employee she felt would be most suitable to work with us. When Mike Winger came out to do the work he was professional, courteous and did the work flawlessly. He even fixed some of the original plumbing under our kitchen sink that we were not aware had been installed incorrectly.
We would have Mike back to do any future repairs we might need. Brenneco’s rates were very competitive and the final charges were as quoted. No surprises. Brenneco is a 10!
