We are so pleased to have found Kitchens and Baths KC. We needed a new kitchen and had bids and designs from multiple other places. Kitchens and Baths KC came in and suggested some brilliant design decisions and ideas that neither we nor any of the other sources were able to come up with. I was about to buy my cabinets from another store. Boy was I glad I found Kitchens and Baths and Unfinished Furniture. Walking into this shop was the best move I ever made! They were much less expensive for a much nicer quality cabinet than the other store. They offer free designs and measure. They came out to my house measured and brought some color samples to choose from, measured and designed my kitchen happily without begrudging me. Not to mention that we got the quote very quick. And the time it took to get my cabinets was better than the other company. I have had some companies never even send me a quote! Most places want a fee to do all that! Not them! The employees are friendly and they walked me through every step of the kitchen design. They went above and beyond! The design and the cabinets are absolutely beautiful! I will definitely be back when it comes time to do my bathrooms and our lake house!

Happy with the cabinets..BUT, pantry/cabinet was missing shelves. This was never disclosed when ordering, and KB&U wanted an extra $240 for 3 shelves that have included or disclosed. We spent 2300 on a vanity, sink, and pantry already. So i had to find someone else and make them for WAY less. (Under a $100).

Don't let the appearance of this hidden gem fool you! We were shopping around for options for our planned bathroom remodel. We had already been to countless stores and spoke with Onyx dealers and were ready to make our decisions. We weren't entirely satisfied or confident that we would get the products and results we needed. We were driving by the Lenexa location and decided to check it out. Todd greeted us and was able to confirm he could provide a quote. We set up an appointment shortly after and after consulting with him on our wants and needs we were on our way to a bath remodel. Todd's expertise and product knowledge was very impressive. Using a design tool, he mapped what we communicated perfectly to fit. Not only was he able to procure the materials (walk in shower with customized pieces, custom made cabinet and sink) Todd put us in touch with contractors for the install. The contractors were very skilled and organized. They communicated very well so there were no shocks or surprises. The only downside was the wait for the products to all come in. That is normal when working with custom built items, so if you want a quick fix this is not for you.
Pricing was better than piecing out from different dealers.
We are very happy with our new bathroom.

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!!!! We spent over THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS on our custom kitchen cabinets with this company (KBUF) and feel completely scammed. During the design process, they passed our kitchen plans back and forth between designers, who complained about each other’s work, and changed major details we had spent hours planning with the other designer without us knowing it was changing (like standard to full overlay doors - thank goodness I confirmed at some point and realized it had been changed). Chad continuously talked over me and interrupted me throughout communication with him. I would frequently email him directly, and then he would only contact my fiance in return. It truly began to feel chauvinist since I am a woman. It was so, so, so frustrating trying to stay in the loop, which is where some unresolvable issues came from. He also had an excuse for EVERY issue or communication complaint. We had MANY issues after our cabinets came in and the only thing they would happily resolve were problems in which they could use the cabinet makers as a scapegoat for, since that way they didn’t have to pay for the fix (KBUF are the middle man, they don’t make the cabinets). They just send you out a new cabinet, but you have to deal with the labor and uninstall/reinstall yourself. If the problem was going to come out of their commission, they were absolutely unwilling to take any blame. In fact, they said nobody was to blame. If nobody was to blame, we wouldn’t be having issues. The fact that we had MASSIVE cabinet design issues (including several appliances that didn't even fit in the cabinets, which are now going to be hacked together) upon install shows how undetailed and unorganized their process is. Some of the issues came from the fact that, once again, they had only sent an appliance spec catalog to my partner, not me (the project is in my name!). I sent them the chosen appliance model numbers (that were apparently not in the spec book that I never saw), asked them to let me know if there were concerns, and we moved forward thinking everything was set.

I don’t think this company should be in business, but regardless they should ONLY be working with builders who crank out standard kitchens every day. They are the experts who should be leading their customers through the process, not leaving us to catch their mistakes or details that we didn’t even know to look for, and then get blamed for them. This was a massive, personal purchase for us and has been extremely distressing and disappointing. We still don’t have a complete kitchen after 7 months. Save yourself the trouble of being hung out to dry by KBUF and TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.

Let me correct my name, Lesley Ramirez, I do not post reviews but working with Kitchens, Baths and Unfinished Furniture on my kitchen remodel has been a nightmare and I am at my wits end and I don't know what else to do. The project started this past summer and I am still missing doors that may or may not be in after the 1st of the year. Similar to other customers, our kitchen was completely mismeasured by Deidre while the cabinets came in a reasonable amount of time, most of them had to be reordered because of the mismeasure adding weeks and weeks on to the project time line. Some of the cabinets came in damaged and a different color then what they were supposed to be so those had to be reordered as well, again, adding more time. I have had to have reorders of reorders of the reordered (yes that's 3 reorders) because of damaged reorders (from the manufacturer) or Unfinished reordering the wrong item even after I supplied them pictures. I had to let go their recommended contractor, Kirk, because he was not showing up to the job or if he did, he would show up around 10am, take a lunch, work few hours and leave. The new contractor that I hired had to redo a lot of the work Kirk did because it was incorrect, for example, he completely cut all the electrical wires going to my dishwasher, the new contractor had never seen anything like it. So I had to come up with extra money just to fix Kirk's mistakes. Chad and Pam have been friendly and have tried to untangle the mess that was made, but I wish I never would have stepped foot in the store. If I can get my doors, I would love to be done with them, as I am sure they would love to be done with me.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS HORRIBLE QUALITY BUSINESS. Do Not Purchase from this place. This company does not care about your kitchen or any customer service whatsoever. They came out to measure and the quote was completely wrong, we went back to the store and helped them correct it. When we got the cabinets 7 weeks later, one of them was broken and they still had a wrong dimension that made the cabinets extend into the entryway. We called them and went to the store immediately and they didn't help whatsoever. We talked to the salesman and the manager and they insulted me, my wife and my contractor and called us all idiots. They said it's our fault for not catching their error earlier, and it's our job to customize their cabinets to make them work for our kitchen. They did not offer any money back, they did not offer a home visit, they did not take ownership of their mistakes and they will not return or exchange. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS HORRIBLE QUALITY BUSINESS. Don't make the mistake we made in giving this company a chance, believe me, they will ruin your project and waste your time and money.

Kitchens - Baths & UNFINISHED is right!!! In the beginning when we met with Deirdre she was very helpful and answered any questions my husband and I had. All of the staff working within the office and with our design was easy to work with. We were working on a kitchen remodel.

The issues started when the install started. We were connected with their installation guy named "Kirk" and was assured that he does great work. Unfortunately, we didn't have this experience at all!!! Our biggest issue is that no one ever came back to complete the finishing touches on the kitchen, even after we waited months for the extra pieces to arrive. Here's a list of a few issues we encountered:
-We were told Kirk would deliver the cabinets and no cost was
mentioned. Kirk asserted that he should be charging us $100 for
delivery.
-Kirk's hired help was late a few times (hours late)!
-We contacted the office and Kirk directly to try and get him to come
back and finish the kitchen, once extra pieces came in. No one has
contacted us after follow-up with them and Kirk's contact said she
would let Kirk know, but we never heard anything. Our kitchen was
started 7 months ago. Still nothing!!!
-The doorknobs to the cabinets keep coming loose and turning. Looks
funky because they are square. I just keep going around and
tightening them every so often. I'm assuming this can happen and
wasn't the biggest complaint.
-Gap between crown molding and ceiling
-Gap between wall and cabinet
-Drill holes not filled in
-Bottom trim coming apart from cabinet. Had to duct tape together to keep daughter from getting hurt on it or someone accidentally ripping the whole thing apart
-HUGE gap between floor and bottom of cabinet...

Here's some pictures to show what's not finished. This is not what we paid for and I chose to write this post because I'm so sick of seeing an unfinished kitchen. We wanted the kitchen completed in a timely fashion because not having a kitchen and a 7 month old baby at home was very difficult for us. Everytime we brought up something we were unhappy with or didn't seem complete, Kirk seemed interested in completing other projects he was working on elsewhere and didn't want to be bothered. If it weren't for the installation problems I would have given 4.5 stars.

The cabinets we bought turned out really nice and the price was reasonable. However, don't believe that they will be able to connect you with an installer. They assured us, multiple times, that "their guy", kirk, could do the installation within a week or two of the cabinets being delivered.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen and trying to find someone to install cabinets in KC is a challenge unless you're willing to navigate Craigslist. When I started calling around to find an installer, all the cabinet installers work for other cabinet manufacturers and they will only install cabinets that they sell you and the guys I got spoke with via Craigslist were shady, to say the least.
Knowing what I know now, I would have done business with another cabinet company with better customer service and a more streamlined approach to avoid the six month headache that our kitchen remodel turned into. And when its all said and done, we didn't save a dime.
