We were nervous going into our remodel because I didn’t hate my kitchen but it did need some updating! It was important to me to keep the classic, timeless, and elegant style of our home. I just finished my project with Erica Kay remodeling + design and have to say it was amazing! Erica understands what it's like to have a busy family and how much of a toll a huge renovation can take on your daily life. I loved how she provides different levels of service, from just designing a space and handing it over to you all the way up to coordinating your project from start to finish (i highly recommend this option if your budget allows). I have always been what you might call design challenged and she and her husband Chris made it very easy to choose the fixtures i put in my new kitchen. When I realized halfway through the project that I was going to go over budget they quickly re-grouped and found different options for me to bring us back in line. They didn't pressure me or judge and I so appreciated that! All my friends and family that have come to see the kitchen have said "it looks like something from a magazine!" and i couldn't agree more!

EKD made my vision come to life for my kitchen, dining and living room remodel and was a gem to work with! I knew what I wanted from the start and didn’t know the value a designer would bring or what to expect going into a kitchen remodel, but EKD elevated the design with thoughtful touches and made the entire process stress free. EKD does not let the small details pass by especially at important timeline moments. Making sure we had ability to install electrical or plumbing in certain areas once we were down to the studs really elevated the kitchen design and function. EKD did an amazing job working with the vendors, promptly sourced materials and made sure every item was correct! Their network of quality, reliable tradesmen is extensively deep so you’ll know you’re working with the best. EKD provided a very accurate bid for all of the elements which provided a huge peace of mind knowing cabinets, counters, cosmetic items, etc wouldn’t break the budget. I wasn't sure going into our home renovation if it would be "worth it" to pay an interior decorator. Erica absolutely WAS worth it — and then some!

Erica saved me so much time and agony making the hundreds of important decisions on our project. And I absolutely love the outcome. She was excellent at understanding my vision and style and making appropriate recommendations, encouraging me when to go bolder with statements or when to scale back and play it safe. She also made the process very easy, ordering the items we selected and making returns for me when necessary. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my Roeland Park kitchen renovation, designed and managed by Erica Thowe. I have an older, smaller 1940’s home, which I love, but I reached the threshold of tolerance for my small kitchen during the pandemic. Erica dropped by to have a look, take measurements and talk through initial ideas and design concepts. Erica had an immediate understanding of my style and added new ideas to the mix. I ended up gutting my kitchen and removing a wall to open up space to add both storage and functionality. I changed my mind on some aspects of design along the way, and Erica was patient and accommodating, providing expert guidance throughout the process. The cabinetry by Wes Edwin Design represents brilliant workmanship and care. The construction team was efficient and professional. A kitchen renovation is a substantial undertaking, and the process was as smooth as it could have been. Ultimately, I’m thrilled with every aspect of the design plan, as well as the finishing touches. I have more kitchen storage than I know what to do with, and a beautiful space to enjoy and entertain. We are still pinching ourselves! I’m an exceptionally happy client and only wish that I had made the decision to renovate the kitchen earlier.
