This review has nothing to do with service but culture of employees represents company attitudes. At least twice a week, if not daily, a United Elevator truck double parks on Atlantic Ave in the morning, so these same two entitled guys can go to Dunkin Donuts, blocking a turning lane for what amounts to 100s of cars and starting traffic jams, on a daily basis. They seem oblivious and not to care about anyone else but themselves as they do it day after day, despite their being a street to their left where there is always plenty of parking, where they could easily avoid blocking a full lane of traffic on one of the most jammed streets in Boston. A free and useful recommendation to United Elevator leaders, I would do something about this as it is very bad advertising, as many people who can see it play out daily from the surrounding buildings and the street, talk about it as terrible marketing to do this so often. Every honk of the horn is a potential customer lost. If there is an improvement in these behaviors, I will update the review as such.

Update: I have not seen them double parked since posting. Upgraded to three stars from one. If this positive change continues, I will update again.

I sent an email on 04.17 regarding a $3000 service call, as usual did not hear back from anyone.
On Monday 04.22 I called Suzanne (residential “service” although I knew it would be a waste of time and breath, she has yet to return a call probably ever.
I waited until Friday and called in to the main number.
The young lady was very pleasant but said she would have to email a work order.
I questioned as to why, all I wanted to know if the items mentioned would warrant a service call.
She said it was necessary, so I said Ok
This Monday 04.29 still no email so I called again and after being put on hold I was told that United was no longer servicing R.I.

Personally I think that is untrue and if it is true I apologize in advance.
I would wager that Suzanne told her to say that.

I am a pretty easy person to do busy with, I always accommodate their service calls on their schedule and If we are not going to be there I leave the door open for him.
I pay as soon as I get an invoice, keeping my end up as a customer.
Have I made derogatory comments regarding Suzanne of course but they were 100% truthful, she doesn’t do her job and needs some customer service training or firing.
Terrible representation for their company!!!!!!!!!!!

When the elevator broke in December between the time I could get an appointment and the time it was fixed was probably 6+ weeks.
I was in the process of having a hip replacement and it was painful climbing 18 stairs several times a day.
Aside from the fact that it took this long, there was zero communication without my continuous calling.
One day the service person was there, worked on the elevator and without telling us he made the determination that it was a bigger job than he could do on his own.
He left, we didn’t know if it was fixed or not had to call several times prior to finding out that it needed a part that was going to be ordered.
Couple of weeks later I called and was told that the part was ordered and they would let me know.

I could go on but you get the point.

I don’t know who else services elevators in R.I., I asked the young lady if she knew if there was anyone filling this void and she said that she did not off hand but would get back to me.
Should I be holding my breath waiting ?
l sent an email to Savaria to see what their recommendations are, we certainly can’t get by without support especially if there is an emergency.
