I’ve lived in 2 apartment buildings in Cambridge/Somerville with these elevators and can say they are completely useless. At the time of writing this, my building has no working elevators because one has been down for over a month, and the other just stopped working today. I was also recently stuck in the “broken” one for 25 minutes because a service tech incorrectly turned it on and allowed it to be used. After being confronted, that tech said “well, you’re out now” and did not care one bit. Do not live in a building with these elevators.

If I could give them negative stars I would. Our elevator has been out of service for 8 days. Schindler has done NOTHING to help resolve our issue expeditiously. Shame on you Schindler.

Based on the person who work for this company and who I had interaction today in the traffic, I would highly advise you not to do business with this company!

This idiot has a serious road rage issues and almost got me killed today. Please sanction this kind of behavior. You should not have people like these representing your company!

Absolutely the worst experience I've had - on month 8 of trying getting a simple elevator panel replacement and I can't even get a quote. Followed up with numerous people all throughout the company with no luck. It is comical at this point.

EDIT - I see their corporate office has left a contact. I'd reached out to that email 3/16 and followed up on 4/14 with no answer. Try checking that email. If you're reading this review don't be fooled into thinking that email does anything

Past five years service has been so unprofessional.
Shindler field personell friendly and informative.
But recurring problem of door not opening, gets fixed, 2 weeks, 2 months later same thing happens.
Got one bill $2400.00 emailed service rep. stated she'd look into it, 5 weeks no call back nor communication- finally hear back, " it took five weeks to get a response", rep states?
" Im doing the best I can" I'd be bankrupt treating customers like that...
Three weeks ago same problem again.....
Rep spends 1 hour cant find problem, get bill $1400.00 for 1 hour travel, one hour on site..
OUTRAGEOUS...
4 EMAILS - to inquire about bill--- no response and??
within 4 days? door sticking again...
Next stop ATTORNEY GENERAL....

While I have never used the services, you might need to reevaluate your drivers. One with the truck number 16734 license plate number: T14 249(expired registration by the way)almost just ran me and my special needs CHILD off the road to get in front of me, while almost rear ending the car in front of both of us to do so, and then reached out the window and flipped me off in Greenville RI about 10 minutes ago. Totally unprofessional and I will be following up. I also have a picture of the van right after he did it.

I reside in what is supposed to be a luxury apartment complex north of Boston. One of the elevators has been down for well over a month and Schindler Elevators has been unable to fix it. There are many elderly people that live here and Schindler has made very little effort to fix the elevator. Schindler has shown up to fix it and then left due to emergencies on multiple occasions. They finally got the elevator to work, and 2 days later it broke again.
Update- After getting the elevator working again, it is broken once again less than a week later. I emailed Schindler Elevator my apartment complex information, as requested in their response and have received no further response from them.

Unfortunately, my condo complex (just north of Boston) uses Schindler elevator. In this 5 story building, the elevator breaks down for multiple days at a time several times a year. Schindler is ridiculously unresponsive with their service and does not provide any information to update the residents, many whom are elderly & have physical limitations necessitating the regular use of the elevator. If you or your organization are considering using Schindler elevator, I would think hard and fast about it; they do not “walk their talk”.

My experience was horrific. The rep had just gotten back from vacation. I been calling for weeks to try to get a date with the elevator shaft Mason and him together to go over the problems if any before ordering the elevator. I emailed, texted, and finally got the guy on the phone. The rep was obnoxious. I asked this adult for a date to make a meeting as most adults have a calender. Took 3 times of asking to get a date of next Tuesday without a time. Then 3 more time of requesting a time to get an answer of morning. Finally, when I try to pin down the time as everyone is trying to meet together. This adult said he didn't have a crystal ball. Then told me to go somewhere else. I have never seen, heard of this attitude from any vendor. I didn't even bother continuing the conversation. This is your Massachusetts Schindler elevator company. Good luck if you want to work with that type of service.
