I’ll come back and provide a more detailed review with photos and names. However, for now just note:
1. Their packers did not complete their job and did not even bring enough materials. They also stuffed my clothing in boxes without any respect (not wardrobe boxes). They put glass-to-glass without any regard.
2. The movers did not remove any furniture legs and did not protect my furniture. I ended up with TWO pieces of furniture with legs ripped off.

This is my seventh move in 14 years. I’ve used large companies and small companies. This is by far THE WORST experience I have had. When moving is already a stressful experience, I’d go with a mover that does not add to this.

Can’t recommend this company enough! They are total pros. Bookstore Movers packed my moving truck for a cross country move within a couple of hours and turned moving day from stressful to easy. Then I drove the truck 2,600 miles, including an incident where one of the tires blew out on the highway, and I still arrived at my new home with everything packed perfectly. Nothing broke! Totally exceeded my expectations.

Bookstore movers are absolute pros. They did a two household combination into one and it was such a smooth experience because of their expertise and professionalism. These guys were awesome! I reached out with a "last minute" request to move a small amount of furniture. With just a few days' notice, I was able to secure a move team.

James, Brandon, and another gentleman whose name I am forgetting arrived at the pickup location a few minutes early, ready to go. They were respectful of both the pickup and drop-off locations, ensuring nothing was damaged. They took their time packing and unpacking the furniture (a breakfront, glass dining table, and two office chairs); nothing was damaged!

Their price is on the higher end, but it is well worth the extra dollars! Don't skimp with cheapo movers. I have tried that and been bit in the butt. Bookstore is the way to go!

I used Bookstore movers twice in the last week (first time was to get my partner moved into our new 2br, second was to move myself in). I can't recommend them enough. On the second move in particular, I had to get my stuff out of a cramped row house and then into my new, more corporate-style apartment. Communication from the movers was great and the crew chief and team were friendly and professional. I also felt like the pricing was fair given the level of service. I've previously taken the "do it myself" approach to moving in DC with a U-Haul truck and a few friends, which usually costs a few hundred dollars anyway (and a whole lot more time and effort). Bookstore Movers was absolutely worth it, for me.
