This company is unbelievable! They laid water pipes and sewer pipes in our neighborhood. Then they dig them up three times to fix the leaks. Now they our behind four weeks to pave their blunders.
I would be embarrassed to be running that crew. I hope there is a finishing date clause.

WARNING IF THEY'RE WORKING NEXTDOOR
5/30/2022 <-> 6/4/2022 This company was subcontracted by Watson Construction of Richmond Maine to deliver gravel, septic sand, and other aggregate material across the street from me for groundwork on a new house for a town selectman, related to a new septic/leachfield and new foundation w/ frostwall footers.

The drivers REPEATEDLY pulled into my asphalt driveway with fully loaded Western Star dump trucks, without the 3rd tag axle lowered, to back across the street all week. Estimated loads count was about 24-30ish. On the afternoon of 6/3/2022 we noticed that this had been happening without our knowledge, consent, or permission, and that a SIGNIFICANT amount of damage had been done to the asphalt and the material beneath.

On 6/5/2022 Mike Mcgee @ Mcgee Construction was notified about the damage. On 6/6/22 the general grounds contractor Josh Watson (Watson Construction) was contacted and asked to make sure what whoever is working on his site did not use our driveway as a turnaround for heavy equipment.

On 6/8/2022 Mike came down, looked at the damage, accepted responsibility and said "his driver should have never left the roadway, and that they would repair the damage" Mike walked the damaged area behind the mailbox and proposed to "saw cut the pavement back to where it was solid, re-level or shim as needed as it was sunk, and repave the existing asphalt driveway where the dump truck had destroyed it, waving his hand from where he was standing (the entrance to the driveway over the culvert) back towards the grass indicating the existing width of the driveway.
September/October 2022 Mike Mcgee was contacted yet again and asked what date his company was going to fix the damage they had caused, because winter was coming soon, He claimed that he had no knowledge of it. Then he said if he was notified sooner they would have done something, whatever that means. Mike came down again to survey the damage. A date was given for a repair before winter that came and went with no one from Mcgee construction showing up. After the date passed with no effort from Mcgee to repair the damage, he offered to tear it up and put in reclaim and pave it "at some point next year, as the asphalt plants were set to close soon" We declined the disingenuous 1/2 repair offer right before winter.

In April 2023 Mike Mcgee was contacted again, we wanted a date for the damage to be fixed. He decided to pass responsibility of the situation to Ted Haskell. It was like pulling teeth to get Ted Haskell to come down after the first visit, always full of excuses. Multiple site visits were had May 18 & July 19 (IDK why you have to inspect the same damage 4 times) Again Ted Haskell of Mcgee construction said.... EVENTUALLY on July 19 ..... that the company would take care of the damage but only offered to repave two strips from the road to the grass, omitting the damaged area behind the mailbox that was initially stated "to be saw cut back to where the pavement was solid" providing again another disingenuous 1/2 repair offer, and still could not provide a date for the repair.

After multiple attempts to get something in writing from Ted Haskell at Mcgee construction concerning the repair of the damage and/or a date from the repair he has completely stopped responding. From July 19 to August 10th we have received the metaphorical "yep, yep, the checks in the mail" line multiple times, with the same result, absolutely nothing. Just continued lies. There has been zero response to multiple contact efforts since 8/10/2023.

Now its 9/6/23. Its been 15 months since the damage happened and its gotten significantly worse due to the inaction and negligence of Mcgee Construction, from water entering the cracks and freezing/expanding, plus standing water accumulating in the sunk areas from the loaded dump truck.

All we have received from Mike Mcgee and Ted Haskell of Mcgee construction are LIES and BROKEN PROMISES.

NO part of this is acceptable.

Had McGee do work for a pasture and and round pen. At first all seemed good until the rain when the pasture started to flood and round pen started to be soup and sink. Well they came back to fix however at another fee almost a year later. They didn’t even fix what they had quoted us at saying they’d fix - saying they’d push back some debris to allow better drainage and re-do the round pen and seed the pasture. They just put drainage in and left after 1 day. Drainage still not right still pooling in the same spot. Now they will not return calls or text been trying to get ahold of them for months. Do not you use them you will not be happy in the end.

Update: McGee did come out and reseed my lawn at their cost, after 13 months of my continually reaching out to them. I am updating my review to reflect that the work was completed.

I would suggest to any one looking for landscaping work to look elsewhere. McGee landscaped our lawn at our new build home. We paid an additional $1500 to McGee (on top of the cost of landscaping included in the building of the house) to have a larger area grubbed and seeded.

Their work left much to be desired. Their equipment left tractor treads in our lawn and there was even metal equipment pieces left on my lawn. There was not any grubbing done between the trees, as had been part of the scope, and there was no grubbing or seeding done at the edge of my lawn by the road. Nothing has grown but weeds throughout my entire property, despite diligent watering on our part. There is a bush with a stump the diameter of a nickel growing in the middle of my front lawn even though I have tried to dug it out with post diggers twice.

When I called and asked someone to come look at the property and discuss what could be done, Mike McGee told me he would be out that afternoon. He never showed up nor did anyone call me to say that no one would make it.

The next morning I called again and spoke with Seth McGee. When I explained my concerns he was very defensive and said I was being unrealistic. I explained that if I pay thousands of dollars for work to be done then I except that work to be done, and be done correctly. McGee clearly does not feel the same way. He said he would come out at some point in the next few weeks but could not tell me when that time might be. He also said there is nothing that he would do.

I will certainly be bringing my business elsewhere to correct the issues McGee left behind. I encourage any others looking to get landscaping work done to do the same.
