Get your garage doors serviced regularly! We learned the hard way unfortunately when the springs and cables on our garage door broke after years of neglect (Who thinks of these things until they break right?)

Chuck from A1 was over about 12 hours after I called for an appointment! He was very personable, efficient, and knowledgeable. Before he even arrived he introduced himself via reminder text with a picture, name, and listed a few hobbies. I wish all service techs did this! It’s always a little unnerving to have strangers in your home so I was grateful for the effort he placed in putting people at ease.

The service process was very easy. Chuck showed up, examined the door and then talked to us about pricing and options. He explained everything very clearly and thoroughly which was much appreciated because I know exactly nothing about garage doors. After completing the initial work, he pointed out a couple other things that should be fixed and got our approval before fixing those parts as well. While it’s never pleasant to hear there’s even more that needs to be done, I did appreciate him catching those things before I have to call again in a panic 6 months from now. All the parts we needed were on his truck. The whole thing took less than two hours.

Having something big in your home break is never a pleasant experience, but A1 was the best possible outcome and I am very pleased with the service we received. Definitely would recommend. Thanks Chuck!

I bought a new house recently and soon found that it had a beat-up garage door that wouldn't close consistently.

I also had a really tough situation where I was traveling abroad, leaving on a Monday, and really needed the garage door working consistency for the safety of my family and my peace of mind.

Mike came out on a Friday morning, and after walking me through his assessment, I decided it would be best to replace the door, rather than investing in short-term fixes that wouldn't really address the problem long-term.

Mike was cheerful and compassionate as he called tons of installers and suppliers, arranged for someone to drive to Detroit to get the door, and personally came with installers (one of whom was his brother) on a Saturday morning, uncompensated.

Everyone I talked to was exceptionally thorough as well as clear, and direct about what was the issue and what my options were. There were no hidden fees, everything was priced out including tax and labor so that I could make my decision.

You might be able to get a less expensive door somewhere else. But I think it would be extremely hard to find a company that trains their employees so exceptionally well, and who's employees interact with customers with such exceptional kindness and compassion.

I highly recommend A1 - they've saved my day today. My garage door spring snapped, trapping my car. I couldn't open it manually. The person who answered the phone was charming and very helpful indeed, and the repair expert had a cancellation and was able to come early. Ron knows his stuff and my garage door was fixed very quickly and works better than ever. I also got a safety check for all the parts of the door. Very thorough. Thank you, A1!
