Service is terrible!! Patio door freezes shut in cold weather and they just keep saying they’ve never had that problem.

Contractor here, and I will never buy another hayfield window. They gave me 6 different ship dates, never fulfilled. I have been waiting 18 weeks for a window and they don't care.

I really had higher expectations for Hayfield Windows. They supposedly rated similar to the Great Lakes Windows we purchased in the past, but they are not even close! The metal hinges on our casements started rusting within the first year. They build up so much condensation when it's really cold outside, the water puddles on our window sills and has ruined some of our trim. Very disappointed! I would NEVER recommend them to anyone.

Needed to replace a broken window. Measured the window and sent pictures to a dealer in Ramsey. They are very difficult to work with, don't return calls or emails and don't know the product. Very frustrating. Just trying to give them money to buy a product and they didn't want to help.

Edit: 2 Year Update: [Hayfield sent a technician to adjust the windows and drill drain holes into the frames. So they acknowledge the problem and did everything they can to fix it. So far no more leaky windows. I'll give them 3 stars because of their efforts to correct the issue. ] Original 1 star review: Junk windows. Leak. Brand new house, every rain we need to place towels to soak the rain off the dry wall. It's not the contractor's fault who installed them, It's the way the windows seal.. as in they do not. Completely avoid these windows.

I was so excited to get new windows in our older home. The time finally came…..The windows were installed and not only did our heating and cooling bills double, my daughters room filled with boxelder bugs and Asian beetles. We contacted the company and they admitted to their error. It took over a year to remedy the problem. We had out of pocket expenses (which included 800.00/month heat bills). I had receipts showing exactly what I had to pay out of pocket. I didn’t try to sue for a ridiculous amount of money, but rather just asked to be reimbursed for what we had to pay. They gave me and Caledonia Lumber Company the run around to which I have saved emails showing. They sent me to their big wig company lawyer (who was actually kind) but he informed me they were not going to do even attempt to make things right. The window inserts were incorrectly made because of an incorrect mold measurement used. It was admitted by bit Jesse and the gal who answers the phone. Shame on you all. Horrible service when you don’t take care of mistakes.

Do not use Hayfield Windows. These windows LEAK. They were installed in late August/early September 2021 and leak. I had a puddle of water on the sill after a storm. I could feel cold air at the junctions and had frost buildup in many places. I could see thru to the outside. Also, they leave space open to the outside where the locks are for the casement windows. I had one outside piece cracked. I had a garage window that got a stress fracture. The staff does not communicate clearly on their paperwork or return calls. When you call the office you get someone that transfers you to a voicemail and calls are never returned. It took 4 times to get the leaks “fixed” by installing thicker weather stripping because they told the repair person the wrong time, left a “sorry we missed you” note on the front door another time and never called to say they were there when a lot of people work from home these days. Another time didn’t have enough supplies and wasn’t told he needed more for the middle parts so only got ¼ of the job done. They cancelled the order for the garage replacement window, had white screen doors instead of black ones and the wrong ones about 3 times. Then only brought one screen door instead of 2 the final time when all along I had corrected them that I needed two black ones. It’s always 2 months before they can come back. I finally got screen doors in September 2022 and finally got thicker weather stripping November 2022. The only person that knows what they are doing is the repair person that comes to fix things and told me now he can’t see thru to the outside on all of them.

Ghosted me on a warranty repair for months, then two different times showed up without an appointment.
The first time they tried to make an appointment the first week of August, I told them that wasn't gonna work I was gonna be out of town for a wedding and they never responded back to reschedule. I emailed and called and never got a call back.
Then they showed up anyway on the day I said I was gonna be out of state. I wound up getting covid so I was actually home, but because I had covid they couldn't do the repair.
The guy that showed up said the office would call me to reschedule, they never did. Fast forward two months they showed up again today unannounced, without an appointment. Thankfully I was home, but they got lucky because I travel a lot for work.
The work is fine, and the guys that come to the house are always friendly and professional, but idk who is running this place but they need a course in how to schedule service calls stat.
We built this house 11 months ago, and are just now getting the last of the warranty work done.
Would not use this company if I had the choice, purely because of the hassle and amount of time it's taken to get things done, but it's who my builder is using for warranty work. Hopefully they'll reconsider who they use going forward.
