I enjoyed collaborating on my deck refacing project with UglyDeck. We visited the showroom to view the available products and chose Timbertech’s composite decking, facia, and risers in weathered chestnut color. We chose Westbury railing system in bronze color and LED post caps. I provided a measured drawing of my existing deck to my coach and he determined all requisite products to rebuild the stairs, reface the deck and add new railings. The delivery was on time and product counts were accurate. I didn’t need coaching throughout my DIY project but when I called about availability of a Westbury post template, I was happy to receive a free loaner template for locating railing brackets on the posts. I had a few leftovers and these were returned and I was credited for the original purchase price on all items. I am thrilled with the way my deck turned out and glad I went to UglyDeck for my materials. If you are thinking about doing a deck project, do yourself a favor and look into UglyDeck.

From first meeting Chad in the showroom, then the great communication between Scott and his team preparing and constructing our deck… Nate and his team of building our deck perfectly. I took a leap and tried the DIY program to save some money and the team at UgyDeck were extremely responsive, helpful, and accommodating. Watch their videos, read through the instructions multiple times, sort through all the material boxes before starting, and know your local building codes. If you don’t have a palm nailer it’s well worth the investment! Since building my deck I’ve paid close attention to others. The quality of material is top notch and worth the price point. We were very happy with our choice of Ugly Deck to assist in our deck building project. Their DIY program was perfect for me. I am handy but could not do all the steps. They created a drawing for the City permit, created and provided a material and parts list and had both on-line videos as well as email/phone call assistance. I was well prepared when I had my help come and assist.
As with many building projects, not everything goes as smoothly as desired. We had board tint problem with our TimberTech boards not matching correctly. Working with Aaron at Ugly Deck, he listened to our concerns and kept working to get the issue corrected. Unfortunately, it took 3 tries to get them right, but Aaron remained patient and got the job done.
It was a fun/rewarding project that we will enjoy for many years to come. I would highly recommend Tyler (our sales guy) and Aaron to anyone interested in saving big $ and using their DIY program.

Working with Ugly Deck as a DIY'er was great. I knew what I wanted for my deck and priced out a materials list with all the big box stores. UD was not only a more cost effective, they also dropped off the materials and had a DIY number I could call when I had questions. I also had UD provide an estimate to install the ledger board and drive helical piles. Their estimate on those additional services made working with them a no-brainer.

I was very pleased with UD's customer service and there is no doubt in my mind that I would not have had a similar experience working with anyone else.
