American Home Construction finished a large remodel on our home that is 87+ years old. Kitchen, Dinning room, Eating area, two full bathrooms, tile hallways/bathrooms, hardwood floors, multiple other improvements given the age of the home. etc.
We are certainly happy with our finished product. It took team work with American and we as homeowners working together. We think the key to getting the final results we wanted were due to several factors:
1. Josh's willingness to work with us and resolve any concerns we raised.
2. We had particular hardware/flooring/bathroom walls/etc. that we wanted and we made sure to communicate that with Josh on the front end to make sure of any concerns/issues he might have.
3. We kept a lists throughout the project so that any concerns were raised early and followed to completion. (For instance: if we found paint-prep or painting concerns we discussed them the following morning so that nothing lingered. If there was finish work that we wanted touched up we kept a list and Josh resolved it.)
4. Our chosen subs such as the 4-West Cabinetry working well with Josh and Josh communicating with 4-West to make sure the room was cabinet and bathroom ready when 4-West installed the cabinets.
5. There certainly were challenges but we knew going into the project that an 87-year old home would hit us with surprises and challenge us as homeowners and Josh as the contractor. It's inevitable but we worked well with Josh to resolve the unknowns.
Patience, communication, written lists, pre-planning, the ability to adapt when the 87-y/o home forced it and many other project management essentials got us across the finish line. Maybe a little late but satisfied and on budget.
If we wanted easy, we would have built new......... Overcoming the challenges and adapting are part of the excitement and sometimes frustrations of making a seasoned house a home.
We are sitting here this afternoon, enjoying the fruits of working with American Home Construction.

After finding out my roof was damaged and needed to be replaced, I reached out to AHC (American Home Construction) to see if they could help me out. Josh and his crew came through for me! When the original roof was installed, there were things that were missed and/or not up to par. This team provided professional service with excellent results. Thank you Josh and the rest of the American Home Construction crew! You are the best!

We hired American Home Construction (AHC) to build our family home. Throughout the build there were several issues, delays and over budget items but we accepted the excuses that were offered and continued forward. Many of the minor custom details we wanted in our home were skipped past, then proposed to us as change orders if we wanted them done. Shortly after moving in last July we were notified that insulation was never finished. The owner of AHC assured us it was taken care of but eventually we had to schedule the work ourselves to get it done before fall. This winter several issues arose. These include that our heat system not circulating, the foundation not being insulated from the frost line, trim and insulation not installed properly. All this led to several cracked windows and frost building on interior walls, even when ambient room temperature was 60 degrees plus. This has been an issue all winter, not just at our coldest temperatures. Since one initial visit we have had no luck getting in communication with AHC (2 months of consistent attempts). Unfortunately this business lacks the attention to detail or quality of work for us to recommend them.

I really hate that I have to leave this review but I feel it is important to warn other unsuspecting Kalispell and surrounding area residents hoping for a high-end remodel. We trusted Josh and his team with a large remodel this summer that was never finished completely and many aspects of the job that were finished were finished with extremely low quality leaving us with trim seams seen throughout our entire house, horrible painting and finish throughout the entire house on walls and brand new doors, an unusable master bathroom due to tile not being done correctly causing water leakage and a damaged bathtub that was not re-ordered by Josh after being told for multiple weeks that he had ordered a new one, cracking grout, unsealed tile, etc... In addition, air ducts were not cleaned out (even though we were told they were), the job went over schedule 3+mos, and now we are left with a giant mess to fix. This is requiring us to hire a new team to correct the mess left by Josh after we paid him nearly a quarter million dollars. To make matters even worse, we have been notified that Josh has not paid multiple subcontractors!!! Disappointed and shocked is an absolute understatement.

We can’t thank Josh and his crew at American Home Construction enough for the full remodel work on our condo at the Whitefish Mtn Resort this past fall. The condo needed a complete refresh in the bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as paint, flooring, etc. throughout, and American Home did an amazing job bringing it all back to life! From complete demo to final fit and finish, these guys can do it all. Josh also does a great job communicating with his clients throughout the process, and we are quite thankful!
