Hauling Companies

A company I use to lease with claimed I abandoned their equipment when they reached out to them (which is false and why it’s not on my DAC).
My only problem is they had two weeks before bringing me all the way from Oklahoma City to verify everything before getting to Fargo. I brought everything I was taking on the truck with me. They waited until the second day of orientation to bring me in to ask me my side of what the company is claiming only to say I didn’t qualify to work for them.
I just grab my things and walked out. They only paid me $50 for orientation and $198 for a bus ticket. So now how do I get my things home?
Drivers beware. They let a rehire go, for whatever reason, on the first day. He’s stranded at the hotel I’m at now. Luckily I have family that can help me out otherwise I would be SOL like the other guy.
I wasn’t too mad; just disappointed in their process of doing things so backwards. I already have an opportunity lined up and will land on my feet.
PS… You won’t find a one way rental out of here. So don’t bring things you can’t fly with.
**Update**
This BS response should make every driver take caution when dealing with these snakes. I withheld nothing from these people AT ALL. They got me there just to leave me stranded on some false information an old company out of Chicago (of all places) left about me that I knew absolutely nothing about.
Talking about integrity and the first thing you do is lie. Go to hell. I lost personal items because I couldn’t pack it back home unless I had someone drive almost 1000 miles to pick me up.

This company is a joke, the trucks are slow, 65mph max. The staff micromanages you, and your miles. They make you take a 34 hour reset every Saturday. 90% of loads are broker loads. I'm sorry I came to this company. Sure their trucks looks pretty, and their terminal look great, but looks ain't everything. At their terminal the drivers are only able to access the drivers lounge and the shop, everywhere else you need a key card to access your driver manager. It feels like there is no trust there.

I can get on here and say how good EW Wylie is and I can say how bad of a company they are. Somewhere I lost ? the great feeling I had for this company. I came here looking for a family oriented company, knowing the drivers on a first name basis, fleet managers contacting their drivers like they say they would do, making sure the driver is working and operating the Wylie way. I lost that feeling. Now don’t get me wrong, the experience starting out, top notch. What they send you through to qualify you for employment is almost similar to Law Enforcement and Military Boot Camp, why because they want the best working for them and not getting injured while on the job. They care, but I feel like that care has run out and at this point I feel like I over stayed my welcome. Flatbed is a strenuous profession that will test you to your limits. Every load is a puzzle, Wylies job is to test you to see if you can solve that puzzle. They give you the tools for securement, no questions asked. No issues with Recruitment, nothing but honesty from the start. Dispatch is ok, wish they wouldn’t talk to me like I’ve been driving for six months or so, it’s all good, they have a job to do and they do it well. Fleet Manager (No Comment) Operations, top notch. Maintenance, hummm I haven’t had a oil change or ran through a terminal except 1 time since I’ve been here, shocking but I guess that’s the policy and procedure. Basically if you do decide to come over to Wylie, plan to work hard and gain some great experience, endless freight unimaginable freight.

My husband worked here.
PROS:
-benefits
-every person he spoke to on the phone was nice and friendly
-every encounter with another driver was always willing to help
-IF given the miles, you can make good money.. IF
-they pay expenses for you to GET to orientation
-you can take truck home for home time
-they pay downtime pay
CONS:
-He was not given the miles to make even close to what they advertise. He was making the same as when he was driving local.
-IF you ever decide to leave the company it’s a hassle as they do NOT pay for any of it as mentioned in orientation and it’s ALOT $
-ALOT of middle of nowhere places with no good food sources, showers, or store is closed so having to go all night not even having access to a restroom.

Some good some bad. Overall I would give them 4 stars. If your looking for a good company to work for I would highly recommend them. Multiple yards. The miles are there for the most part. Something about Texas I just can’t understand tho. Equipment is top of the line. Fully loaded and I mean fully loaded. Multiple varieties of loads, over size, tractors, farm equipment to fire hydrants. Join e wylie today and tell them The MEGLADON sent you.
They are pet friendly 50lbs I believe.
