My wife and I ordered a wood cafe door and a wood screen door along with the installation from Authentic Southwest Windows and Doors. Tom, the owner, came out to our home, recommended styles, helped us pick out the doors we wanted and kept us informed throughout the manufacturing process. Our doors were done quickly and installation was very professional. Excellent quality, pricing and service, highly recommended.

We got a beautiful door from Authentic Southwest Window & Doors. We did have some problems with a wood door made in an area that probably has higher humidly than Santa Fe. Our door had shrinkage in the two panels and needed some adjustment. Tom sent over a installer and we worked the panel back into position. Still a handsome door and we are pleased with it.

Authentic Southwest Windows and Doors took a substantial deposit from us, never delivered and only returned our deposit when threatened with a lawsuit.

We were quoted for the supply and installation of replacement front doors. We paid a significant deposit and were told to expect to wait about 8 weeks for the doors to be delivered, finished and prepared for installation.

For many months Authentic Southwest blamed the door manufacturers for constant delays.

When we ran out of patience and asked for our deposit to be returned, we were ignored. Our lawyers were also given the run around for several weeks. We finally received payment when the lawyers started preparing a lawsuit.

Some things we discovered along the way:

1. Our doors were never ordered with the manufacturer. The manufacturer haven't done business with Authentic Southwest for several years.

2. The business claims it is licensed for the work they carry out but NM CID has no record of a license and have an open request for investigation

3. The Authentic Southwest Windows and Doors web site claims they are:
a) Better Business Bureau members. BBB says 'THIS BUSINESS IS NOT BBB ACCREDITED'
b) Members of the National Home Builders Association, I can find no record of this association and no record of this business at NAHB
c) Members of Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association. The association have confirmed that Authentic Southwest are not members

I was nervous about using this company because of some of the reviews that I read. Unfortunately the other big door company in town said it would be a year before they could get to me. So I held my breath and called Tom. I could not be more pleased with the work that he did. Full disclosure. He said it would take 2-3 weeks, and it actually took 2 months. But given the time frames the other companies gave me and given the problems presented by Covid-19, I don't think the delay was unreasonable. He custom built a kitchen door to match an existing front door. The design and stain color were a spot-on match. He and another gentleman came out and fit the door, which included taking off the existing heavy screen and door. He was up front about the pricing, as well. I am extremely pleased with the job he did and would recommend him.

TERRIBLE! One star is being generous.

Took a full year from the date I wrote the first check to the installation. Just one door....Tom doesn't call back, comes up with excuse after excuse as to why nothing is being done.

When they finally installed the door, it did not come as I ordered. Had the wrong door hardware and was installed with mismatched moulding. In addition I told them I'm keeping the door being replaced for another project and of course the installer cut the door jamb out and said he was not told anything about keeping the old door.

After going through all the mistakes, I was told it'll be fixed. Another two months later, still no resolution to the problem. The door moulding is still mismatched, wrong door hardware still on and I don't have my original door back. Tom is now dodging calls and blaming his installer. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Please think twice about using this dishonest company! I foolishly made a large deposit for several doors and hardware, only to be strung along with excuses for nearly 4 months. First the doors arrived damaged and needed reordering, then suddenly the warehouse flooded and most of the replacement doors were ruined. I remained patient because Tom was initially reassuring and nice....but that only goes so far after the unprofessional behavior and excuses started. We agreed on refunding the part of the deposit I paid for the doors that were damaged /destroyed, etc and I would pay for the 2 doors that were installable. I still haven't been refunded and calls, texts, and email have gone unanswered.

Do not do business with Tom. It took over a year to get all of our windows. He NEVER returns phone calls. Always has an excuse to not be somewhere or to call back.

Even when I personally went to his shop to get the last window it looked right but was incorrect. Also didn’t have the screens so I said cut me a check for what’s owed and my time and frustration. I’m expecting the check to bounce
