Not being familiar with what plumbing materials and electrical materials used back a 100 years ago in a house and not being from the area. Through my inspection with Jay I gathered a lot of good information that aided me in the decision whether or not I wanted to purchase a house of something that old.After learning. about what needed to be updated and things that needed to be brought up to code and the. amount of work that it would take to bring the house up to those standards I felt that. it would require more money and work that I was willing to do. Jay knowledge was very help. I was definitely pleased with his service.

Inspection came back overall good with minor issues, seemed that he knew what he was talking about. A week into being in the home there are major major foundation issues, water coming in the basement, cracked pipes all throughout the house, entire home needs electric replaced, the list goes on an on. Thousands of dollars worth of issues that I would have never proceeded with the house if the inspector would have told me. In a terrible position with the home I would not recommend using him.

If you want all the facts in front of you before you make the decision to buy a home – I highly recommend Jay Brzezinski of General Home Inspection as your Home Inspector.

As a first-time home buyer, I knew it was important to hire a thorough and objective home inspector to reveal the good, bad, and ugly about any potential home. With no technical knowledge myself, I was searching for a trustworthy expert to rely on, who could explain things in lay terms and demystify the house inspection part of buying a home. After spending much time online reading articles and perusing websites and reviews, it was the sample report on the General Home Inspection website that convinced me to give Jay a call.

Jay immediately put me at ease, explaining the process and patiently answering my questions. It was obvious he had a wealth of experience and information to share, and it was not long before I knew I wanted him on my team.

I also attended the home inspection to get to know the house better. Jay worked independently, but called me over at times to show/explain issues he found. He also answered many on-the-spot questions about things I noticed. Jay took many notes and pictures, which ultimately came later that *same* night in a 26-page full color report. The report listed all items inspected, together with their approximate age and condition. It also pointed out any major issues (as well as minor items) in need of repair – with pictures and explanations.

Lucky me, overall the house was in great condition, with only a couple key issues to fix. Empowered by the information in Jay's report, I was able to write a succinct request to Seller's Agent (citing pages in the report), regarding the key issues to fix. The report itself was an invaluable tool to clearly present my requests, with the added proof of pictures.

I do not hesitate to recommend Jay Brzezinski of General Home Inspection to my family and friends, or anyone looking for an expert home inspector. I especially recommend him to first-time home buyers who need someone on their side. It is always a risk to pick someone you find from the internet, but in this case, it was a risk that paid many dividends, including peace of mind surrounding the decision to move forward in buying my first home.
