Buyer beware – These Shade Store blackout blinds were purchased in the Portland, OR store in 2019 and are all failing - the main fabric is pulling away from the backing leaving numerous light gaps. This is clearly a product defect as it is affecting five out of the eight shades in the room. These are motorized and quite expensive! The Portland Shade Store will not repair nor replace! However, they did offer a “30% courtesy discount” explaining that their warranty only covers original purchaser. (We just purchased this home.) Overpriced and low quality, stay away. We ordered three custom blinds for a bay window- two small and one large. We wanted cordless cellular which we have on the rest of the home's windows, but The Shade Store claimed that for the large window, only a corded option was available, and that it would cost $850 for just that one. We went with that, and in a year the cord broke. Just from raising it in the morning and lowering in the evening, no special uses. We called assuming they would repair it, but nope- they said it would cost $400+ to repair! Utterly ridiculous, especially assuming it would just break again in a year. They clearly do not stand behind their product. I went to an online blinds retailer and ordered a replacement, and guess what- it was available as a cordless option and only cost $420. Looks great and I installed it in minutes.

I visited The Shade Store 11/25 to order 2 Roman Shades. I was told by the salesperson for 2 49"× 70" would cost $1335. Zach came out and measured my 2 windows. The quote I received today was for 1, not 2 Roman Shades. $They want $1,500 for 1 shade. The quote was for 1 shade, but I asked for 2. That is why I drove from Milwaukie, OR, to NW Downtown Portland to speak of my request in person. Do not use them. They do not listen and they offered no solution. The lady I spoke to just hung up on me. (They came highly recommended but I received 2-star service.) Zach, the measurer, was early, friendly, and carefully measured 2 windows AND took photos. This mistake is on the sales team. This was a horrible experience at the Shade Store.

I had an easy time finding shades to keep the dark in for sleep. It was made simple from choosing the right shades, to measuring, to installing. The Shade Store is lucky to have the employees it does making it all work.

Great buying experience with the Shade Store. Monica Infante was my sales contact who provided thorough selection and choices to us for almost a month without feeling any sales pressure. Delivery of sample swatches, actual products, and installation schedule were on time. Great quality of service and product. We will definitely consider buying with them again in the future.
