Dirk and his team are amazing. Our shower pan (completed 15 years ago by another contractor) leaked when I was 38 weeks pregnant. He went above and beyond to accommodate our situation as quickly as possible, working around his schedule and even calling a plumber for us when additional work was needed. He was incredibly responsive, and his workers did beautiful work and were clean and considerate. We can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend them!

They made suggestions for shower niche placement, and helped steer us towards a more period correct tile layout, which I’m grateful for. We have used Hawthorne tile twice, both times to help us remodel bathrooms. Dirk Sullivan consulted with us to start the project and guided us to good decisions about which floor and wall tile to choose and perfecting our design ideas and layout. Then Vlad and Josh did an exceptional installation, prepped the shower stall in a new configuration with center drain and built a shower nook for soap and shampoo. Then completed all the tile work expertly with lots of attention to detail. They really know their craft and are highly skilled. Best of all, they are all really nice people to associate with. We enjoyed having them around during the process.

Dirk spent a lot of time helping us to diagnose the problem, and when it became clear we needed to fully deconstruct and rebuild he did the extra work to connect us with multiple other companies. Once into construction Bo was absolutely fantastic and willing to flex with all of the issues in our 1907 house. The end result is easily the most beautiful thing in our house.

Hawthorne Tile is absolutely first-class all the way. From the pre-job interactions with Travis to the exemplary on-site work by Bo and Jesus, I cannot recommend Hawthorne Tile more highly. Bo and Jesus treated the job -- retiling our fireplace hearth -- as if it were there own home. Jesus was still in apprenticeship mode and Bo was a methodical and patient teacher. They communicated really well along the way to keep me abreast of progress. There was a potential issue with the tile we purchased (stain on tile from corregated cardboard between each tile; not from Hawthorne Tile) and they worked quickly with the tile retailer to fix the issue *that* day. The job also included removing the existing tile and rebuilding the substrate, which they did to perfection. Bo and Jesus are master craftsmen and a pleasure to work with! We are remodeling our upstairs bathroom and taking on the majority of the work ourselves. However when I got to tiling, I found that I was quickly in over my head. Hawthorne Tile replaced the flooring of our half-bath laundry room. The house was built in 1915 and we wanted the flooring to match the original 1-inch hex tile in our full bathroom. They paid attention to detail throughout the entire project. Given the pandemic, we had to change our plans due to unforeseen delays with other subs and Dirk was extremely accommodating. The crew was personable and professional. They kept on schedule and budget. I can’t recommend Hawthorne Tile enough!

With a list of a Dozen Tile installers, I chose Hawthorne Tile- Wow, I was totally impressed with Travis' historical knowledge. No need to look elsewhere! The work was excellent and definitely met expectations of 2 Artists here! Tile removal and restoration all performed by Doug.

1927 Fireplace Tile restoration. Discovered this tile is by Muresque Tile CA.

See Left pic is the original which isn't visible but the tile was separating from the mortar. All tiles were removed and sub structure re worked. The Right pic shows the finished restored fireplace. Years ago built ives on for years more! Totally happy and don't think I need to look elsewhere when it comes to the talent in tile application!
